Well, if he thinks freedom is the most important thing for a candidate to pledge to address kind of makes one think that the economy is secondary. Mind you, if I was him, I'd take the same approach seeing as I wouldn't know fuck all about anything but at least I can attribute my thoughts on 'freedom' to my (reading) of my Holy Book.

I find it really depressing that even though Santorum is a Christian Taliban that he can get any votes at all. Listening to people who say they support them it's even more depressing that they can talk, as someone that devoid of intellect shouldn't be able to use words more than two syllables long.

I also find it sad that real Christians aren't vocally calling this man out for having such a totally fucked up view of the Bible. It would be less concerning if there was any indication Santorum was just saying these things to get elected, rather than fully believing the total shit he speaks.

It's baffling how Zimmerman avoided arrest. It's almost as if it was one man's word against the other's, but because one of the people who could testify was dead, the living person's version of events was deemed the truth.

I'd give mine a bonus for using birth control, better than maternity leave!

It's pretty fucking shocking the view on women that's been shining through american politics recently. I truly and hopefully hope womens vote beat these troglodyte views into the ground.

I sometimes wonder which is worse, Deep South or Middle East.

It's republicans; this shit is going on in New Hampshire, Utah and Alaska, none of which are near the South, let alone Deep South.

It did make me laugh when questions were raised in sections of the press why Cameron didn't have any talks with leading Republicans while in DC as a fellow conservative politician. Er, I'd think it pretty bloody obvious really.

    This space left intentionally blank.

Conservative art is awesome. I love how subtle it is.

    This is pretty good too.

The smear campaign against Trayvon Martin

This is getting nastier by the day.

Reads more like random blogs, and Conservative websites are trying to smear him, hardly widespread.

Thanks to this the US is going to have to endure legions of stories about teh evil hoodie. Thankfully there aren't any national tabloids and the attention span of the media can be measured with a fly's calendar.

Last night's Daily Show piece was amusing. Made me feel sorry for news anchors, especially those who had to appear on the same show as Geraldo.

Still attempts to discredit him though, aren't they? Anyway, Fox News are even getting in on the act, albeit to a lesser extent.

Fox News in on it. Hardly localized or narrow.

Revolting how these 'rationalisations' bypass the fact the kid was SHOT DEAD.

Quite tame by Fox standards really, you would expect to see similar comments over here as well.

I'm not condoning anything though and agree that the whole argument is totally ridiculous.

There's a huge response form liberal-leaning actions sites. Lots of petitions. And these often have an effect.

There was a huge positive response to Susan G Kolmen yanking funding from Planned Parenthood. They raised the amount from Kolmen in under a month, (425 of that was mine).

The idiocy gets all the attention. The pushback doesn't get near the same airtime, but it's strong. It's also reassuring because the visible onslaught of the right and the utter fucking shite they spread is depressing and worrying.

    That's pretty shocking.

Next up, when you arrive at an interview they collect your house keys and search your house.

    http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/03/29/george-zimmerman-video-outrage-where-are-injuries-from-travyon-fight.html"The Florida shooting farce continues

Do you see any injuries in that video? It's fairly grainy, sure, but I for the life of me can't see any sign at all of a broken nose or lacerations to the head. With a broken nose, you might think that there'd be a bit of blood on his t-shirt. Anything.

I'm not particularly conspiracy-minded, but come on.

So, apparently, Rick Santorum very nearly uses the 'n' word when talking about Obama.

I can hear the first syllable, hmm, what else could he have been about to say?

Then again, maybe we shouldn't be surprised that a right wing bigot is, erm, bigoted.

    Pink slime.

After careful consideration I've come to the conclusion that capitalism works brilliantly well. I've long wondered why Americans don't want to vote for policies that would improve their lives directly. The root cause is that actually some of them do. The people who are voting are the well-educated (and thereby rich as education is expensive) who vote to keep their own position good. People are brainwashed into believing the American dream. Not by a conspiracy, no, not at all. Instead it's all individuals who are working in their own best interest. Capitalism works great!
