From a personal viewpoint Benfica will be very tough, but at least we are away from home in the first leg.

Nice long trip for Chelsea there amongst a run of 6 games in 16 days for them.

Based on last night's performance Spurs couldn't win against my gran. But they look to be best placed there.

Newcastle might just pull off something amazing.

LB, you really are a massive geek.

Interesting, Chelsea travel to Russia before their home game with Spurs.

As long as Bale is fit you've got to back spurs to win it really. Who knows though, all the teams left can beat each other really - could go anywhere.

    Called it

Benfica are a very strong side, and we'll probably lose, but it's exciting enough for me thinking about the prospect of a proper European cup tie with Newcastle in it again.

We might even get to play in a stadium more than 60% full!

Ah well, had to face some proper opposition at some point. Benfica will be very hard. Not holding out much hope - but it will be a brilliant couple of matches

Typically, we probably got the strongest team left in the competition - Benfica have been on fire this year.

Saying that though, if we can beat them (i know its a big IF) then i think we'll have an amazing chance.

Sweet, looks like a 2-0 win at home for spuds followed by a demoralising 1-0 loss away from home, which should see them through to lose in the semi finals even more demoralisingly.

Apparently UEFA are discussing the possibility of the Europa League winner going into the following season's CL. I think that's an excellent idea. Makes sense to include the champion of UEFA's second competition in there.

That'll definitely make it a far more attractive proposition for everyone involved and immediately awards a bigger cash pot to whomever wins it.

Finally a good idea from the big dicks at uefa. I wonder how they'll ruin it?

Chelsea Spurs final would be epic. Can you imagine how the Chelsea fans would feel if Rafa won a European trophy.. Hah

I don't like that idea. The only hope Newcastle have of bagging a trophy is if no one else cares about it.

Holtby looks pure class. Buzzing everywhere and plenty of composure when on the ball.
Spurs starting to take over a bit now after a fine start by Basel.
