I only caught the first half. Good play from the youngsters from what I saw, Shelvey is looking potent and Coates always looks quite deadly from the set plays.

Trust the match to go batshit when I trot off to do other things.

Udinese are a really good side. Took a lot for us to overcome them last season. And Di Natale, what a player.

I don't think we deserved to lose even tho we clearly switched off at half time. Would have been different had the ref not shit out of the red that should have been. Still no excuse for us dropping concentration. Nothings ever straightforward for the pool especially Europe.

    lol @ Ligue 1

Bordeaux are one of the best teams in France at the moment and Newcastle just controlled the match against them with a half strength team missing the likes of Ba, Coloccini, Ben Arfa, Krul etc.

So comfortable it was boring and it's a shame NUFC didn't extend the goal difference past 3 goals.
Bordeaux never really turned up. It'll be a much tougher game in France.

Yeah tbf some good performances to take positives from. Robinson played well, Assaidi did alright and like you say Shelvey is looking better and better.

Coates is so deadly at set plays that he scored their second goal for them ;)

Wish he'd come to the premiership. Fantastic player.

Two of the goals came down Johnson's flank. He's being asked to play so far up that the cover for him needs to be perfect; Carra and Coates just can't offer that to th same standard as Agger and Skrtel.

Not a bad performance from a mostly second string team tbh.

Think that ship has sailed, he loves the club and lifestyle too much. But still great at 34/35. Heard his assist for the 3rd was quite special

Maribor are the best team this "little nation" has to offer, says ITV4.

    Sweden isn't little.

I thought Huddlestone could have tracked back or done better for their goal.

Was that a goal then ?

Goalie had the ball in one hand, player heads it out his hand and scores with a volley ?

The rule is one hand iirc. Don't know why Agger got booked. Clever play IMO.

Henry got done for one and that was in the air. Stupid refs.

The goal keeping act of throwing the ball up and kicking it counts as one 'move' that can't be interfered with.

Which is understandable, but a goalie walking around with the ball in one hand? I think it's the keepers fault and smart play from the attacker.

If it's so obviously wrong why did Agger do it? Bookable offence is a joke, unless it was for time wasting.
