You'll have to go shopping eventually...might as well do so tonight!

Dear god man... are you using logic on an internet forum?!

Yes, you are probably right though.

I know, it's crazy talk! You "should" have gone shopping on the weekend, though. But you probably know that already! :)

I was busy doing other more exciting things. Forethought and planning were not involved in the slightest. Waiting until tomorrow seems like a good suggestion. Perhaps I can beg my flatmate to drive us to the big, fancy, inexpensive store then.

    I'm one to talk - I wasn't doing anything that exciting and I still didn't shop. :(

Now I'm in the same boat as you, with nothing to eat tonight!

A large, ice cold CocoMack, some freshly baked bread and 2 hardboiled egs.

    Mmm.

Ha! Do as I say not as I do, eh?

I'll just make some pasta... unless BinaryBob and THFourteen are going to share with the group?

No, no...never do as I do. Even doing as I say probably isn't such a good idea.

Chicken thighs cooked in coca-cola. First time I'm trying this so it could go either way. In theory it should be nice...

Sausage rolls and a tin of beans.

Can't wait to hear how that dinner works out pete.

Something with pork. I think maybe a curry. But then I have sour cream, so maybe something with that. Just about to figure it out now.

You brown off the thighs, add some garlic, ginger, chili, soy sauce and cider vinegar, cover with coke, and simmer till its reduced by 2/3rds and is all thick and sticky. Serving with rice and stir fried veg

I had some pasta with a lovely olive and caper sauce courtesy of Mr. Organic. I also had some asparagus which was a tiny bit past its prime but still quite good. Crisis averted.

I will have to try that soon, smoothpete. It sounds delicious.

Well, I'll be shopping soon because I need food in the house! I'll be getting us some chicken breasts to throw on the grill with a slathering of bbq sauce. I've also got some red potatoes to throw on there with them.

So, not a bad night afterall!

That chicken cooked in coke thing was delicious, I'd recommend it. here's the recipe. I simmered it for longer than it says, probably 40 minutes. There's another one for cooking a ham in coke so I'm going to give that a go
