    You may have not watched every single part of the godfather film (part 1 , 2 and 3 ) if you havent you really should.

    I actually think that the godfather is one of the best films of all time.
    what do you think?

    Certainly not the best films ever, but Parts 1 and 2 are very good films even if 2 could do with a few cuts here and there to make it less of the behemoth it is. But then would it be as good? Who knows...

    Part 3 is terrible though. Bad acting, bad pacing and very lacking in atmosphere compared to the other two films.

    Yep, it's uniquely derided amongst gangster films for failing to ignite the genre and producing no acting performances of note.

    Indeed, of the trilogy really only the third is of any note, and only that one for Sophia Coppola's landmark performace.

    The first two are very poorly scripted, the timeline is all over the place, the plot is disjointed, all in all it's no surprise they sank without trace.

    I saw a really great film the other day, I doubt any of you will have seen it; The Shawshank Redemption. If you get a chance, watch it.

    I have the boxset but have always thought the Godfather films were over-rated. Never understood how Marlon Brando didn't get the piss taken out of him more often for sounding like he's talking with a couple of gob-stoppers in his mouth. The 1st one's entertaining enough but it ain't all that imo.

    I liked the first one, didn't see the point of the second one, never saw the third one.

    Whilst we're on about overrated trash, Dr. Strangelove is quite substandard. The eponymous character is only in it for about ten minutes. False advertising, that.
