My job would be a lot better if I didn't have to deal with other people, those people being the public.

I lurk. If I've spoken to you, I'm either impassioned, or drunk.

Hate is a strong word. I don't like* my jobs, but it pays my fucking bills.

*I'd much prefer to do it sat on the grass in the sunshine, though I won't get many shelves stacked, but for my call centre job i'd be as productive.

    I'm doing a server-support level job and getting paid a call-centre salary.

Yea, I hate my job too.

The thing that really stinks about my job, other than the mindless repetition of it all, is the terrible working environment. I've moaned before about certain things, but it's like being in a cell all day. No natural light, no windows, no air, factory noise and dust, literally 90 degrees on hot days, no fresh water, no lunch break away from the computer. I'm sure several key health and safety laws are being flipped the bird. There's absolutely no team spirit or moral of any kind, no incentive to actually do anything but the bare minimum each day. I'm underpaid and I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any more.

Oh, and to top it off, one of the salesmen who works with us (I'm not a salesman btw!) is a real life David Brent/Ned Flanders hybrid. Which on paper sounds pretty cool. In reality it's rage inducing.

I've just been talking (read: shouting) to some poor soul about how much I hate my job.

Lo and behold, I log on EG and spot this beauty of a thread. I can thankfully continue my rage towards my shitty job and my cock-juggling thunder-cunt colleagues.

    Roll on lottery win...

(edit: rage made me spell something incorrectly...is there anything untainted by work rage?!?!?)

The only ting worse than my actual job are the bumbling, lazy fuckwits I have to work alongside. While I always make an effort to get on with my work (it makes the night fly by) some people spend all their time chatting away, hiding around corners on their mobile phones and just generally doing dick all. These same cunts then have the audacity to pretend they've done a hard night's work and sigh about why we haven't finished yet.

The only thing worse than those are the management, prancing around in their shirt and tie under the mistaken belief that they've somehow earned everyone's respect despite being unable to maintain any sort of discipline, and when a crisis emerges, fuck me, they run around like headless chickens seemingly unable to comprehend what's going on. I take some solace in the fact that I am a hard worker, and they do miss me when I'm off for week, what keeps me going is the knowledge that one day (hopefully) soon I'll be handing in my notice and I'll get to see the look of utter dismay on their faces when I do so.

I work nightshifts at a cash and carry, lugging heavy things with about 4 members of staff to work the whole store cut down from about 15 due to the recession, and the guys who work there are absolute numbskulls. Does that qualify? Nah, it's alright really.

Do you work in a Brazil style distopian future?

I mean, it's not Google where I work but we have human rights!

That said I start my own place / work from home soon and I am looking forward to that.

Like my job, hate the general public who I am forced to deal with because of it. My colleagues are all a fair bit older than me, but they're nice people, well-read and have a modicum of education.

By way of comparison, last week a member of the public came in and pissed on the floor, another reduced one of my colleagues to tears by shouting and swearing at her (I did get to escort him outside and mouth "Fuck. Off." at him as the doors closed though), a drunk with a knife in his sock and a druggie who nodded off in the ref section leaving his kid to squirm in her pram for more than an hour.

Not to mention the vast shower of cunts who cannot lower themselves to use the new self-service systems, think they are automatically better than me because I work in a library, debate every fine they get, and get snotty when you argue with them. It's all because of the context too, there's no way they'd dare talk to you outside of that environment, because if they did it outside you'd knock their fucking teeth down their throat.

My job should be quite cool. But the place I do it for is so unredeemably dire that most days, yes I end up demotivated and annoyed.

The only jobs Ive really enojoyed were EFL, and making pig pens in a little workshop / factory I worked in for a while, many years ago.

Both of these professions were a lot of fun and quite satisfying. Unfortunately career dead ends.

I've been working in telesales for a coupla weeks and I want to die. I got my degree and now I just want to GET OUT AND BECOME A BARRISTER but I'm stuck with this utter shit until I find a new job and/or start the training next September. I sit around all day bored out of my fucking head, daydreaming when I'm supposed to be working, and getting shouted at for making the tiniest error in a booking.

I'm either gonna get fired this week or quit, if it seems like they're gearing up to sack me I'll just leave. I'm grateful to have a job, but not at any cost as I'm sure I can find work elsewhere, even if it's stacking shelves in a supermarket which seems to be the holy grail of jobs for a student - how to get a fucking job in Sainsburys.

    Telesales is SHIT.

Well, we've finally had air conditioning fitted in our dungeon I mean office. Which is good. However, instead of giving us the remote control, the MD (who works in a nice little private room with many windows and sunlight, oh how I'd kill for sunlight) has sole possession of it and has decided that rather than set it at a comfortable working temperature of, say 18 or 19 degrees C, she'll put it at a clammy 25 degrees C. STUPID BLOODY TIGHT FISTED BASTARDS. They really are thick cunts.

Can swap with my office if you like. It could be snowing outside and there's still one person who claims the office is hotter than the surface of the sun. So that bloody aircon is always on and always down low.

They always bitch like crazy if you turn it off and within 30 minutes it's back on.

I enjoy the work I do (when there is actually work to do), but sometimes the people I do that work for (and their bosses) suck the joy right out of it.

Is it weird that whilst I don't hate my job as such, I still just find myself getting slightly annoyed lately at really small things, and am thinking of quitting (again)?

I've got a week off now, and I'm not actually going away, so it'll be interesting how much stuff I can find to do, 'cos that's my main concern really - if I quit my job, WTF would I do!?

do what you normally do when you can't make even the simplest decision for yourself, make a forum thread about it.
