Oh, and knowing ICO and SotC, we will be given no context to anything whatsoever. We won't know who the armed men are, who the boy is or even who the guardian is and of what. Maybe we'll be given some clues, but we'll proably have to find our own answers.

And the ending will be disappointing and satisfying at the same time.

Considering the amounts of fun I'd had with the previous 2 games, I don't really mind.

    looks utterly fantastic

hope the big rat/hawk thing doesn't get killed otherwise it would be sad

I'm sure that music is the same as Millers Crossing, anyone know what the track is called?

Why is it unfortunate? You'll still have to wait like the rest of us. It's not like your impatience is going to lead you to rash actions, like breaking into Team ICO's headquarters and stealing the not-yet-done game. Or is it? ;-)

Must... not.... delay... game... with... theft...

Back in the day when I used to just get a month magazine it was easier, I'd only start to get excited about a game properly when it was the preview.

Seeing as Final Fantasy VII was put on PSN today it reminded me of when I read the 8 page (or however long) preview in the Official Playstation Magazine, I don't think I've reread an article more times in my life. Ah to be young.

My impatience is more unfortunate because I'm incredibly fickle and want what I can't or shouldn't have. I have 10 games on the Xbox360 and 8 on the PS3 at the moment, half of which I haven't even completed but I'm still looking eagerly at the calender for new games to play. It's one reason I always have way more games than I can possibly play, I really should whittle it down at some point. Or lose all form of my social life.

Can't believe I've only just read about this, I'm not loving the eaglerat or the cartoon boy :(

Quite possibly the only person here who feels like that.

Probably hate the game, however after feeling a bit alone in ICO/ SOTC this might be the thing that clicks for me and if I can manage to save up for a PS3 then it looks like it's worth a try, if just to add to the collection.

Also; as for the eaglerat thing, I think it looks rather cute.

I loved the loneliness, even though you were with someone they weren't intrusive.
You could almost forget about them as you marveled at the scenery, there's no escaping Big Bird though.

I'm sure I'll still love it like I loved the other two games when iim actually playing it, but I'm not enchanted by that big scruffy thing, seems more like a gimmick having a huge sidekick.
  • Deleted user 6 June 2009 00:53:43
Yeah, a wow factor type thing.

    Wow I'm with Big Bird
  • Deleted user 6 June 2009 01:05:35
Obviously they wanted a different type of sidekick this time and made him huge, that's why i used the word gimmick, probably wrongly.
The horse was an animal, this is just trying to be too different imo

I also think that the aspect of using a large animal/monster as a puzzle in itself was a wonderful use of design from SotC so I'm not suprised its featuring in this game in some form.

Me too, I think I just don't want to be with this ugly thing all the time.
I'm sure I'll grow to love him.

Me too as in i think the whole game will revolve around the boy and his huge bird

They should really use their own music. Lisensed stuff breaks the illusion that this is a strange world, completely divorced from the real one.

Hopefully, that tune was just for the trailer

Licensed? Limerick's Lament is a classical irish folk song. It's not licensed from the Miller's Crossing guys if that's what you think.

Oh right. well, you know what i mean. Its still from the real world.

On second thoughts, i don't think it makes much of a difference either way.

So do we know when this is roughly due out? I guess it's already spent a long time in development.

it would be nice to see some actual in-game footage though as trailer that doesn't give any sense of the dimensions or mechanics.
But thats just being pedantic, I suppose..
Does anyone else hate having to play as a bloody whiny kid though? In any game?

Or they both die, or both live.

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

It'll die saving the boy in the most unselfish and heroic act that'll make jesus' nail hands crossy boohoo sins malarky seem like helping an old lady across the road.....

They have potential and the opportunity...story-wise, to do something very very special.
