^ Different type of game though as Dishonoured allows you the freedom to approach these open levels to your leisure, whereas Revengeance, if it's like other games of it's genre, keeps you on a set path throughout.
The length wouldn't bother me if it's fun to play and enough there to keep me interested, like multiple difficulty levels, challenge rooms etc. Same with Vanquish.

I'm just starting chapter 3 of what looks to be 8. It's taken 2 hrs to get here and that's with watching the cutscenes. The chapter I just finished (the demo one but massively extended) is pretty darn lengthy, but then there's an achievement for finishing one of the upcoming levels in 7 minutes.
Baring in mind I'm doing it on easy and am pretty much legging it through the levels, it'll probably be done in 5-6 hrs. But chucking it on a harder difficulty and taking time looking for the collectables, its gonna be a fair amount longer.
Ohh and it's pretty great so far. The combat's not as deep as DMC, but still very enjoyable, and some of the cutscenes and boss fights are as mental as you'd expect them to be.

It would appear the reviews are breaking.
Couple of 9's but a 7 from Edge.
I see Mr spoiler/glib got the EG gig.

I am reet looking forward to this.
Some dodgy reviews from eg of late so I will take the edge score. Demo was okay, will look for opinions on this page next week.
This would have been day one many moons ago but the market has eaten itself to the point that the game will have halved in price by the end of the month, so I just cant justify getting it on friday.
Very true, I can't see myself getting any game day one anymore as the price nearly always halves in a month.

Quite a mixed bunch of reviews. Some great ones like EGs, some mediocre 7s and a couple of really low scores. It must be a game that doesn't appeal to everyone but I think I am more excited by it now then I was before

I just ordered it. I'll no doubt burn through it an sell it on, but I do love me a Platinum game.

I just remembered I have the demo for this in my Z.O.E HD collection. May have to give it a swing.
Nah, buy day one and keep with Vanquish and Bayonetta in the gameplay shrine.

The Eurogamer and GamesTM reviews were glowing and the latter publication generally lines up with my tastes so I'm still looking forward to it.
Also to kick off everyone's favourite part of a game thread... ShopTo have charged my card for this. Fingers crossed I'll be getting the dispatched email shortly!
EG's review seemed to echo my impressions from the demo. Might well order this when I get home. I feel guilty about having obtained Bayonetta from the swapsies thread. A game I may never finish, sadly
I'm actually excited about this game. Doesn't happen often these days!
So going by the Face Off, the PS3 version looks better but the Xbox version has a marginally higher framerate. Not sure if they're even doing a PC version.
The review is almost non stop praise.
I really quite enjoyed Vanquish and really liked Bayonetta. I'm just coming off the back of finishing DmC so I'm not sure if I'm better off leaving it a while until I play this or jumping straight in. It sounds brilliant tbh. I really like the sound of the fighting/parrying system.
I'll play the demo perhaps.
If it goes to PC, ill probably double-dip

Has the dialogue been improved, can't really glean anything from the eurogamer review.

Watched the ending earlier. Balls-out crazy. Graphics in cutscenes kinda awful though.
That is fucking daft. No restraint.
usually I wouldn't condone it but it's hardly going to ruin the game in this instance.
1. It's a Metal Gear Game so automatically the story and everything about it is utter bollocks.
2. It's made by Platinum so substitute Platinum for Metal Gear in point 1 and Repeat.
I'm not saying I'd do it, it was a wee joke dontchaknow? Anyway, if you're coming to a Platinum game for the narrative, you're doing it wrong.
Demo is most unstable on 360!
