Christ. Played this for the first time tonight. Adventures. Wank. Some other sports game. Wank.
The fucking thing doesn't recognise you half the time and you're stood there like some mong waving at the telly. It's laughable watching the software trying to adjust in game to any person playing.
I'm sure there are better games but jebus, not a good first impression. I just wanted to grab a pad 90% of the time.
Is this what Kinect 2 will look like?
In contrast to Steve Perry, playing for first time now.
3 girls in room, all laughing their heads off. Mission accomplished. Second hand, not too pricey, got a bunch of games for free too. Might actually get me a bit fitter...

So yeah, most of these demos are shite, but some are fun, and GF is sold on dance/zumba stuff, which is what she wanted.
She's playing the demo to Kung Fu High Impact. It's pretty crap, but watching her backflip over ninjas is absolutely fucking hilarious. I am crying.
My GF is a simpleton when it comes to Kinect, and it's so funny. She shouts XboX PLAAYY and STOOPPPP over and over and the poor thing obliges like a beaten robot.
all Dance Central DLC is on sale this week.
Cue my 6 year old spending half term Gangnam-ing...

Didn't MS say it and the console are near silent?
They say that, yeah.
Having said that, a fan doesn't automatically mean lots of noise. Depends how efficient the system is. My PC has a great fan and it doesn't make much noise, even at full pelt.
The fan in the console is huge. I'd be amazed if it makes any significant noise. That one is smaller but I doubt they have to run it at high RPM.

Got a Kinect at launch and took it straight back to Sainsburys....! Just wasnt worth nearly two hundred quid (with a couple of games)
Decided to try again at the weekend. Got a second hand Kinect, Kinect Sports, Kinectimals, Dance Central, Once Upon a Monster, Kinect Party, and Child of Eden for a few old trade ins and £20.
Having so much fun with the kids. With that pile of games its a steal. Really good stuff. I dont know if they have patched things, or my expectations are just lower, but the thing even seems to work a bit better than I remember.
Even the wife was impressed when I was sat on the couch and gave it "Bing - Zumba Demo - Download" and it worked!
I always wanted to give Once Upon a Monster a try.
it's pretty good for kids stuff to be honest, although don't let anyone hear you say that on the wider site!
My main problem with it from that perspective is that it doesn't seem to be reliably able to pick them up with the camera, but that once again comes back to the biggest problem with it, the space required to make the thing actually work even half effectively.
