@Psychotext: Hmm.. I've been reading that too. I guess retro fitted precision lenses/mounting for 20 quid is maybe expecting too much.. Still tempted.

Your Shape 2012 has just shipped from Amazon for 17.99!

I'm hoping to see the DLC on sale for that and Dance Central 2 soon. :)

Before I go researching can anyone tell me what is considered the best Kinnect based fitness 'game'? The reviews EG published for Active and YourShape seem to be for quite out of date versions now.

Feel like a Kinnect and fitness app in the sales might be worth a punt for New Year health push :)

Plus, Your Shape 2012 has the incredibly rad 3D body scan thing, so it's like YOU'RE IN THE GAME!

Block balancing is shit. Wallbreaker is where it's at.

    Saw This

    .

Made me cry, then vomit then scrub the inside of my happy thoughts with bleach.

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

Started playing (using?) Your Shape 2012 this week and realised I am a total wreck. Kept me off Skyrim though :)

Some of the YS2012 routines will break you unless you're very fit.

Well, I tried Haunt last night and came away disappointed... I was hoping it would be a game to engage the family but I can't see the kids putting up with the pacing. It looks like a labour of love but felt clunky, slow and from what was shown in the demo, repetitive. I'll keep an eye on reviews but no sale for me at the moment.

The problem with Haunt is that it doesn't feel like a Kinect game. It feels like a game designed for a controller, just with all the controller functions mapped to gestures instead. Instead of walking on the spot I could be using an analogue stick. Instead of shining my flashlight I just wanted to press A. It would have worked far more efficiently, too, without having to wait for five seconds every time you want to select something. It seems like a nice thing, but it's just completely pointless as a Kinect game.

A question, where the hell is Kinect labs launched from? I found it in a small box in the "tv" section but that can't be its proper home, can it?

I quite like the look of Haunt myself but word of mouth seems to be fairly underwhelming unfortunately... Maybe at 400 points (in a sale) for a rainy Sunday afternoon!

How many folks on here have Your Shape 2012...?

I played it for a shy over ninety minutes a while ago (until I passed the 100 calories milestone) and blooming heck, it is really good! I love the full body tracking and the modelling (of yourself) is quite impressive too.

I could never go back to Wii Fit now!

The only negative point I can think of is those workouts that ask you to lie down sideways; I just do not have a comfortable amount of space for it... Boo-hoo.

The African classes are so chilled out yet I was very surprised to lose ten calories just for what is essentially flaffing about.

Does anyone wish to follow each others progress...? It shall be a little bit of extra motivation for me. My game name thingummy is 'Mr Quite Quiet'.

I'm going to make it even worse for you. Think of him as an aggressive gay man and listen to what he says next time...

I am totally loving Your Shape 2012!

Who would have thought a fitness game can be jolly good fun...?!

... broke the 200 calories milestone since starting it for the first time yesterday afternoon and beat all of the_dudefather's high-scores along the way too.

    ; )

Who else owns the game; barchetta and Psychotext?

Yeah, I've got it. Can't say I'll be much competition for high scores outside of wall breaker though. Mostly don't do anything other than the full routines these days.

Yeah. Must get into it - played it as much as I post on here, so not too often really..
13hr days don't leave much in the tank to be swanning around in front of the TV but maybe some healthy competition would get me off my tired butt.

Am I from a different planet or are you guy's taking the piss? Watching a video of an obese ex Gamesspot journalist and talking about exercise routines that could be easily achieved by reading a book; is beyond me. Emulating skipping and fatty getting excited because of the CGI image of himself is an absolute joke.

If like myself you paid 129.99 for Kinect; don't be embarrassed, hold your hands up and admit Kinect is shit.

Know someone with Kinect S-N? Go and do one of the hard level bootcamp or cardio routines. Fatty didn't go near the real routines, the ones he did are the absolute beginner level, barely warm ups.

I'm not sure where the "reading a book" thing comes in (you mean you could learn a routine from a book? If so, you're completely missing the point.), but those two I mention are bastard hard. There could be more but I'm yet to try more than a quarter of the content.

Picked up our Kinect for the kids Christmas for 129.99 with Kinect Adventures, Dance Central, Fifa 12 and Kinect Sports from Game online. Not too shabby to be honest, and we part chopped the Fifa12 for 19 and grabbed Kinectimals.

Your Shape 2012 for 17.99 wasn't bad either.

That said, it could really do with some solid, quality gaming titles. Maybe the latest MS studio announcements will help.

Anyone wanting Dance Central or Your Shape 2012 should pop over to TheHut.com as you can get 10% off with the code HUTFIT10, bring the price of each down to 13.45 and 17.95 respectively.

    Bargaintacular!

Also, having watched the Giant Bomb preview, I'm quite tempted at picking up PowerUp Heroes...

Maybe I'll just LoveFilm it to get my fill.

My boy likes PowerUp Heroes, watching him strike the poses is almost like Tai Chi. I'm crap at it.

Got YS2012 at the weekend, just had a playaround. Keep meaning to do a routine, but am always knackered at night. Got myself all sweaty and breathless on Saturday afternoon to burn 2, yes, 2 calories!

Had a go at the balancing last night, but couldn't work out how to score - I'd build up a big pile, then tilt it off for nothing, but bits and bobs just dropping off would get points...

    @DaM
you have to tip the blocks into one of the buckets that appear at the sides, otherwise you don't get any points

Related to that, ignore the calorie indicator in YS2012. It couldn't be more wrong if it tried. Best bet is changing your profile weight to something like 200kg... but even then it's still miles off.

My heart rate monitor is usually showing 600kcal by the time YS things I've done 350kcal. I swear that they did the baseline calculations on Olympic decathletes or something.
