Damn, wish I'd had the cash yesterday then. Only 2 copies left then, probably long gone now. Still annoying that they went "it's rare!" - prices leap up! Then "it's not, really" - prices... stay up!

I'd kick the living daylights out of the producers of Tipping Point - Ghandi

meh its all good value for 3 games in one. Nintendo games usually hold there value aswell, twilight princess is still selling for 30 second hand in my local shops.

Handful of hours into Prime. It's my first Metroid game (I think I missed out on the NES, but if I did play it it certainly didn't leave an impression).

    It's pretty good.

Lots of backtracking though. And 'Space Pirates'? Did the work experience kid come up with that name? And what's with the token fire and ice levels?

Space Pirates were all the rage back on the NES.

Hey, I just started. Might not even finish. Less 'one of the greatest games ever', more laughing as the phrase 'Space Pirates'.

What are they, like their own race or something? Or rag tag collection of like minded souls plundering the space lanes? I'm gonna investigate.

Space pirates is a description, just like online pirates and sea pirates. Its not really that complicated

Actually they appear to be their own species with a homeplanet and all that jazz.

Sweet boss fight to pick up the spider ball.!

I was worried that it would be a bit Zelda like where you have to wait for ages between new tools to access new areas. But they're laying them on thick and I like it.

Fuck. Lost 45 mins as the difficulty of the pirates just jumped up and they now seems to require a specific beam to take down.

I think it's the end for this game. It's still out of stock right across the online retailers, and I haven't seen one instore for months. :( Glad I got it when I did, but it's sad for everyone else, and the series too.

It is a strange situation. Saying it's no longer being produced, then saying it is in this counrty at least. Could it be that the fact most online retailers don't operate from mainland Britain stopping them order new ones? I have not a clue on such matters, it just sounds plausible enough.

There's still plenty near me, though not all at bargaintastic prices. Fantastic game even at full price though.

Looks like they've sped the footage up there, for some reason. But yes, it does look very good indeed!

I've had it on pre-order with Amazon for weeks now. I bet I don't end up getting it! :o(

The backtracking as you build up your capabilities and get more access to new items when you revisit areas is fine IMO and the I love the sound of the Space Pirates.

Oh and Phendrana Drifts is the greatest level in video gaming, "pretty good" is quite an understatement, Metroid Prime is one of the greatest games ever made.

Well, its one of the greatest Metroid games ever made. I assume. Never really wanted any more Metroid after spending hours back tracking and scanning my way through this.

Nope, it's one of the greatest games ever made.

    And backtracking is Metroid.

The backtracking is fine once you're tooled up, much easier to get around.

I guess that's kinda the point.

Can't you just use the Corruption disc and the trilogy just for 1 and 2?
    I'd like them all-in-one :(

I have the first two on Gamecube (imported the first from the US, actually - bloody NoE) and would've been happy with Trilogy on Wii. But it suddenly jumped to over 30 and I'd seen Corruption for under a tenner pre-owned, so... basically, I wouldn't have bothered buying Corruption if I was certain I was going to get the trilogy disk. Especially not if I'd known the save game wouldn't work.

    Gah.

Tried to get back into this over the weekend but it wanted me to go all the back across the map and down into the mines.

So I played Just Cause 2 instead.

Colour me excited. Now that I have some free time as my final year of Uni is finished, I finally placed an order for this. Cannot wait to replay one of the best games I've ever played (Prime) as well as two new ones (Echoes and Corruption).

Was lucky to get it though, it's out of stock pretty much everywhere I've seen apart from Tescos and ShopTo.net.
