The ltd Edition is 29.99 in store at BOTH Game and Gamestation.

Finished MP3 (original, not trilogy) over the holidays. Loved every second of it, though the final boss was a bit easy IMO. Just trying to convince myself I need to buy the trilogy to play the original two again with the Wii controls (I've got the cube originals, but going back to play them with the cube controller is horrible in comparison!).

Is there any point in buying the trilogy if you have the first two games on the Cube? Do the Wii controls make much of a difference?

I haven't even got a Wii but I'll probably get one to replace my Cube when they release the new Zelda game.

I like the Wii controls. The GC controls aren't really up to much. Though you get used to them quickly, moving onto the Wii, which is capable of excellent first-person control, is quite liberating.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is in the UK Top 40 this week.

Yes, a hell of a lot. The precision is just so much greater and the addition of the lock-on free aiming from MP3 makes for more fluid battles. I love(d) the cube games, but after going back to the original Metroid Prime with the gamecube controller and realising how restricted it was in comparison, I decided to buy the trilogy in the end (literally just got it now! So excited!).

Love the first two games, the first especially, and just bought myself Corruption.

I'm now going to have to buy the Trilogy, seriously, the controls are fantastic! \o/

Read a few days ago that it's out of print now, so will probably be worth a fair bit in the future. Still not enough to convince me to get it though.

Exactly. The controls are THAT good it made me want to play the first two again, so I bought it today.

The controls aren't amazing, but they're not bad. It's hard to tell because Corruption was so dull.

Publishers should take notice and orchestrate a discontinued rumour on a slowly selling title next time! :D

Could be worse. You could've bought 20 copies or so to sell on eBay.

I picked this up just before hearing the news that it was not cancelled in the uk although i intended on getting it and was just glad to get it before the prices were hiked up. I never got to play the originals on the gamecube and im really enjoying the first one at the mo, so far its living up to its praise. Only one thing annoyed me which was going into the flooded freighter before getting the gravity suit, getting out was a pain in the arse. I dont mind the back tracking because Im enjoying the searching round and having to memorise areas you will have to go back to later. Good stuff.

I'm also glad that all the twats who brought loads of copies to sell got a bit of a slap in the face.

Serves the profiteers right. I wonder if this will momentarily push Metroid Trilogy back up the charts. Nintendo, you sly bastards.

As with K-project, I also picked it up from Game for 19.99. Complete bargain.

I'm three hours in to Metroid Prime and am reminded how much of an amazing game it is. I think Retro Studios did an amazing job bringing Metroid from 2D to 3D. This was lost on me when I played it back in the day but now, with a little distance, I can truly appreciate the achievement.

Also amazed by how little it's aged. Still looks great, the level design is almost peerless and it completely captures the sense of loneliness and atmosphere that Metroid games should be about. I enjoyed Corruption but it really doesn't compare to the original Prime.

I just thought I had to express this. Metroid Prime is a stone-cold classic and definitely in my top 10 of all time.

I implore any Wii owners who are in the envious position of having never played the first Prime to get stuck in asap.

Definitely agree. Funny though, how they said it was still widely available to buy in the UK, and that stores could order it readily from Nintendo if they need to replenish stock, yet it's still out of stock all over the net. Hmmm. It's been out of stock for ages. I suspect the Wii is struggling with games sales. Possibly.

Either way, I'm bloody glad I got it. :)

Next time I'm in GAME I'll have to have a look. As much I was a bit annoyed about the back-tracking in the 3rd one, the three-in-one aspect is a bit hard to pass up at that price.

I take it the 15 my local Sainsburys are asking for is still alright then? I had this but foolishly had it and traded it in. Must've been drunk or something, seems stupid now.
