Can I play US cube games on my Pal Wii, and if so, what version of Freeloader can I get hold of that will sort this out? I have the latest firmware downloaded on my Wii.

    Cheers

Freeloader no longer works on Wii. You can play US Wii games using GeckOS and the Homebrew channel but not sure that works for cube games.

    Try http://wiibrew.org/wiki/GCBooter .

Search the forum for the thread called BootMii. As the bare minimum you need the Bannerbomb hack, LoadMii and GCBooter.

I haven't tried GCBooter but GeckoOS is working for me just fine. I didn't try a lot of games but it was at least able to run games that the Freeloader wasn't (when it was still working).

The Gamecube Freeloader still does for Gamecube games on the Wii.

Depending on the version of GC Freeloader you have it will work. GeckoOS works for some games, but not all. From personal experience Mr. Driller Drill Land (Japanese) will boot and is playable, but will not properly format the memory card so no progress can be saved. Midway Arcade Treasures 2 (USA) will boot, but loading of individual games fails.

GeckoOS 1.9.1 just got released, so it might be different, but I doubt it. I'll try it out this weekend.

    +1 20charactersmax

I have the most recent freeloader package revision (disc labelled 2006) and firmware 4.0 and it works fine.

Is there a compatibility list somewhere?
