Anyone following Five USA's S3 pace? Really good so far, even if it's not quite living up to the intensity of S1/S2. Wonder what will happen now they're flying to Belfast? Some of the accents are ok, serviceable at best. The actress playing Maureen Ashby is the best one at it, even if you can hear it break at some points. The guy playing Jimmy is the worst. Can't stand it.

As you can see from the thread above, the Belfast episodes are generally regarded as pretty ropey. Woefully underinformed about Norn Irn, and with accents that rarely get within 200 miles of correct. (You;re right about Maureen Ashby though, she did a more decent job - she was out of Deadwood, wasn't she?).
And even more than the other series the plot was ridiculously contrived.

I miss Sobel, he was a great baddie.

I've never seen it so I can't say for sure, but I did recognise her from Caprica.

I'm looking forward to the Belfast episodes with bated breath then (though I hear the finale's great)

Last night's was great, focused on Jax, and the conclusion of the search for his boy. The quality of the sequence where he finds himself in an agonising position was incredible. The result also really well done. I haven't rated most of the Belfast eps, but that was excellent. I felt production nose-dived and left the show not looking as good once Charming was a side-focus.

Jimmy genuinely needs subs. I'd rarely go as far as to suggest that out of respect if not tact, but the lines are borderline unintelligible. Back to the positive, and I agree the majority of the Irish characters have come across well. It's too bad Trinity can't head back over the pond, once the business in Ireland is tied up, as I think she's a charming character (no pun) and the platonic connection with Jax leaves I think a valuable additional side, that could be brought in as the show continues. Wherein, they could maybe, illustrate the idea of leaving one place of conflict, and moving to another.

Also, yeah s3 is missing Sobel. Some of the Irish fill the space, but back in Charming it's a little hodge-podge. But we get Stahl back, putting pressure on the club.
Won't miss that though, once this run's finished. I think it's bloody awful! :p

Possible plot spoilers from the latest eps here...

Since when have the SoA cared about race? Is that something I've missed? Don't they have like a predominatly black charter out there? Why's Juice so worried?

Loving the new series, heaping on the misery and working its way towards a real train-wreck \o/

Yeah meant to bump this as this season has been the best so far. Gonna be some absolute chaos in the last couple of episodes.

Not soon I hope, buckling under the weight of shows to watch at the mo! Liking the comments on S4 though, quite excited.

IMO this is the best season so far, definitely infinitely better than the last season. Imagine how good it could be then add machete and rocket launchers and you're part way there. :D

Last episode of S4 airs tomorrow, so, if like me you suddenly remember to check up on the usual places after forgetting about SAMCRO, S4 should be easily available for your viewing pleasure.

Interesting opening, and nice to see another familiar face......Watsisface with the cooker ring scar :)

Wow interested to read the comments here. Didnt want to come in for fear of spoilers, just watching the last episode now, but I thought it was really weak compared to seasons 1&2.

Ok so just read some of the meta critic reviews and I'm happier, a lot of people didn't think season 4 was great, it was just Ok.

I liked the latest season but I thought the ending was pretty disappointing.

Ending was a tad anti-climatic, but at the same time all the little tidbits and hints at what's to come, and the necessity of a clean slate given what happened, meant that it certainly proved to be interesting. Still liking all the lil' nods to Hamlet throughout.

Pretty much given that the next season might jump forward a tad, taking the easy option to solving all the current woes, but as long as Mr Potter is still around it'll be fun. Interesting to see if Sutter takes an Antwon Mitchell angle with the probable new antagonist...... Pope ? The guy whose daughter was killed by Tig's hit-and-run.

Oh, and poor Lemonhead. :( Guy just can't get a break.

:D I thought it'd air further in to the new year than that, but I'm glad I was wrong. From the impressions of this page, it looks as if the latest season gets going on a far surer footing.

Sooo is this worth watching from scratch? I finished The Wire (loved it, amazingness) and am waiting for Breaking Bad Season 5 to finish.

It's good, but not up there with the greats IMO. Have you seen The Sopranos? Or The Shield? (SOA was created by one of the producers from The Shield)
