All the faults have been there since BF1942.

One of my worries about Bf1943 is the inclusion of planes as that always used to result in half the players queuing for planes back in BF1942.

People who used to say they were dedicated pilots in BF1942 used to annoy the fuck out of me. If all you want to do is fly buy a flight simulator.

Saying all that I loved getting near an airfield as sniper and thining the queue for the planes a little. That never got old.

Don't really agree with that. Whilst not really ever using them myself (I liked the odd go here and there, but was pretty crap) they are all part of the Battlefield experience. Fighting as infantry with tanks rumbling along and a seperate battle going on above is all part of what the game is about.

I don't mean there is a problem with including planes. What I am reffering to is in the old BF games you used to get lots of players who won't do anything else but fly. This means the server player slots are being used up by people who are waiting for planes to spawn and often there were not enough people on the ground capping flags.

Oh yeah, definitely. If you got the crowd in a game it just got stupid. Especially if you got people shooting each other to use a plane :D

Seeing people politely queuing up at the planes respawn (BF2) was one of the weirdest and most depressing things ive ever seen whilst gaming online.

It was great if you were in an opposing plane though, they made bombing runs more fun, plus the tards that were waiting never seemed to use the AA that was usually located nearby.

Even better was being in the area just as a plane spawned and you'd blow it up as it started to roll down the runway. :-D

    This space left intentionally blank.

C4 on enemy armour is something I havent done enough of on BFBC...requires patience and nothing worse than dying with a load of C4 left unexploded.

Some times I C4 the attack heli, take it near the enemy base - not TOO near - and go hide. When they take off in their new found toy, I let them fly a few moments then press the little button on the radio transmitter. Great fun!

Uh, that link on IGN is asking me to install some kind of IGN player. What the fuck is that? Can't they just use a normal method like everyone else?

Hehe. I like the producer's end comment; "I would argue that this is the best multiplayer you experience you could have".

And man, it does look great. Look at the beginning of that video, when you see the building collapse. Looks extremely realistic.

Strange that there aren't more videos out of this, considering it's been demo'ed at the show?

Thanks for the link, I can't wait to get a hold of this game.

People seem to drop a bit quicker which is good, the knifing doesn't look as broken as it is in BF:BC.

XM8 with ACOG and then shown again with a reflex sight so there must be some customisation + a sidearm which will be a godsend.

2.52 looks like the A10 airsrike off the MP trailer. Fingers crossed that will replace the JDAM and can't be called in every two seconds (by all 12 enemy snipers).

    Day one purchase for me.

i am enjoying BF:BC atm and i'm looking forward to BF:BC 2. i don't like the kill cam idea, it's shit in cod5 and is why i normally play hardcore mode. i don't camp at all, as snipers should move to different vantage points.
    initially i found the movement a little stiff at times and hope there's a little more fluidity in BC2. in the single player game the humour made me laugh and broke the action up nicely, but the snipers on the hard difficulty made me cry! ;_;
oh, and the helicopter on the relay section made me swear... LOUDLY! :D

Out of curiousity, who else would be to blame? :p

overall tho it's more engaging than cod5. at least the achievements unlock on hard in BF:BC. in cod5, the veteran ones for each painful level haven't unlocked at all! >=/

Can Valli, Derbs or anyone in the know say definitively if this is due out this year or next? I've heard both.

Either way, I can't wait and at least we have 1943 (also still with no release date...?) to tide us over.

I guess nobody wants to go up against MW2 so a 2010 release is probably the best business move for DICE/EA. Still, I'd happily play both this November...or a demo map this year at least. The Oasis demo of BFBC was great

Q1 2010, I'm quite sure they've said in one of the interviews.

Why people snipe when attacking is beyond me, unless you're being seriously counter-sniped by the defence.

Aren't snipers more useful in attack? They can take out defenders manning fixed position weapons and in lookout towers etc. Also, in terms of the weapon's range, the attacking sniper can keep defenders out of range of their weapons because the defenders must stay around the gold/flag and the attacking sniper can find a position to keep defenders at long range. When defending, the sniper will have to deal with approaching attackers reducing the range so the attackers weapons become effective - a snipers nightmare. The defending sniper hasn't got the freedom to move as much as the attacking sniper because he must defend the gold/flag.

I have to agree. Using a sniper rifle on advance troops either with your rifle or tagging for JDAM is pretty effective especially on goldrush maps.

The problem with snipers on the attacking team usually is that they sit back long after they've taken out the targets they're good for - at some point you're probably gonna need some grunt taking the gold crates and unless you're lucky and manage to bomb 'em out with the specialist's charges, having half the team sniping doesn't exactly help.

Not that i'm buying this title for SP, but for a minute I thought that this vid was hinting at four player SP. I guess not with all the names appearing at the end.

I can't wait for this game.

    Had this trailer yet?

I'm loving the polish they've put into this, I'm seeing how they've learned lessons from COD4 without losing their own style, and is it just me, or are the weapons just a little bit less "laggy" than before?

And it's coming to PC! \o/
