    Charlie Brooker ‏@charltonbrooker
There's a new Wipe series starting in about 4 weeks.

(Really enjoyed this as I follow the news but don't really watch live TV, good to put ridiculous images to the stories.)

Yes, although I could've happily not been exposed to The Valleys or TOWIE. The horror...

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

not that i think its a conspiracy or anything, i was a bit surprised that Brooker didn't have more of a go at the BBC's facile coverage of the jubilee.

his contributors are usually more miss than hit, but i really liked the bits from "Philomena Cunk".

I guess he doesn't want to add to the publicity the perpetrators already receive. That, and it's really grim.

He pretty much covered all there is to say about coverage of shootings in a previous newswipe. Although he did write an uncharacteristically trite piece about the recent one in the guardian.

I enjoyed it a lot. I thought the Savile stuff was handled very well.

and yet...they used a piece of music during the US elections that would have resulted in a royalty payment to convicted paedo Jonathon King.,,

As good as ever although the Django bit was strange.

Ah great, I had no idea this was on until I saw it on the iplayer this evening. So glad he's back, it cheers me up immensely to watch him despise things.
    Loved the Africa bit.

The Django bit was a little strange, I guess as it's a weekly wipe maybe they need a bit of filler so they'll maybe have a couple of guests in to talk about a "cultural thing" once an episode?

Anyone know how long stuff usually takes to come up on iPlayer?

Not long usually. The one that is up just now (episode 2) only took a couple of hours after broadcasting, if that.

    Formerly TheStylishHobo and Geesh.

2013 Wipe at 22:40 this evening, right when a lot of people will be watching MotD, great scheduling BBC!

    This space left intentionally blank.

    Watching TV live, how quaint!

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

That wasn't bad, wish I hadn't watched it with my parents though. Doug Whatsit was actually fairly funny this time, especially with the indiegogo drive.

These yearly episodes remind me why I hardly ever watch telly. Some of the shite shown over the year was quite unbelievably bad.
