Just watched it on iPlayer (nice call out at the end for people like me, who should be doing better things on New Year's Eve!), wasn't the best he has ever done but the tomartyrdom pun was magnificent.

Nice to see him including alot more about games this time. Talk more about games, the news is shite. You've proved it numerous years :p

    Gameswipe please.

Anyone know why Brooker didn't do more Gameswipe after the pilot? It seemed to get a good reception.
  • Deleted user 31 December 2011 21:31:45
You can't mention games on the BBC.

It wasn't a pilot - it was shot as a one-off I believe. Of course, that doesn't mean we shouldn't expect another given how well it went, but perhaps Brooker doesn't have enough material for another, or maybe he's too busy writing other stuff and shagging Huq to do another, given it's perhaps his lowest priority.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

Wonder if he'll get a Blue Peter badge.

    First pun I've read/heard in 2012 and it's a scorcher. Good work.

Very old, Brooker even mentions his channel by name in one of the episodes of Screenwipe (although it was called xthemusic back then, I believe)

2012 Wipe is on BBC2 at 10pm tonight.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Thoroughly enjoyable 2012 Wipe, although Brooker looked a bit more trampy than usual in those trampy outside links he did. He really needs to sort his hair out, it looks like an unkempt birds nest.

I don't enjoy the other contributors, apart from Stanhope, but good to see Brooker doing what he does best again.

Pretty good. Consistently amusing and he managed to shove in a higher than usual number of obligatory video games references.

He had mud smeared across his face in the outside bits. I think it was supposed to be a joke.

Thanks Charlie. Doug was looking better than normal. Or maybe he is in that first stage liver failure where you look a bit florid.

@localnotail Yeah, he's seems to be making a tradition of that in his 20XX Wipes. But he just seemed more bedraggled than usual. He had a twig or something hanging from his jacket pocket as well that kept distracting me.

If you watch it back he gets worse as the year goes on; just a visual gag

Did some people miss the bit at the start where he said how everything basically went nuts in 2011 with disasters and civil unrest? It's why he looked like he'd only just survived the apocalypse in those scenes because he had only just survived the apocalypse.
