If you could get Charlie Brooker to work with the Day Today cast (and, natch, Chris Morris), we could have a REAL answer to Daily Show...

Well I twittered at him asking if it was as much work to make this show as it was Screenwipe and he ignored me. Which I think tells you all you need to know. He's a cunt. Boycot his sick filth.

Yes, because I really did expect him to reply and I really was angry he didn't and I really did want you all to boycott teh show and you really haven't totally blundered into this thread guns blazing trying to prove a point that didn't need to be made.

No I don't think so. Idiot thought I was serious. I notice you don't share your name, by the way. Why is that?

That was probably the sharpest episode so far, lots of little gags chucked in all round the shop that worked well and weren't labored upon.

Are we hitting an apex in the media where it's become such a complete and utter parody of itself? I can't see this lasting that much longer. It's really got to collapse on itself.

The poems are shit btw. Get rid of them. My eye + shampoo + needle could do better with the time. Rest is quality. Glad to see Mr Brooker's got some music taste.

Brilliant stuff from Brooker, once again. This is a true gem of a show.

glol at the Skyboat. Although there's much hilarity to be had, at times this show scares the shit out of me. Especially the guest segment.
  • Deleted user 16 April 2009 07:25:39
I also twittered at Mr Brooker to ask if Tim Key was a friend of his. He didn't reply to that one either. What an antisocial elitist cunt. I for one will stop watching his show entirely over this.

I wonder how many researchers they must have watching rolling news all day to get these clips.

This is very true. I watched a couple of episodes from The Day Today at the weekend again on DVD. The ridiculous over-the-top graphic pieces don't look so ridiculous and over-the-top anymore, they look remarkably like what we see in usual news programmes.

Remember reading the Graphics were done by the Sky News people. They had dares to try and get similar stuff in regular broadcasts.

I hope Mr Brooker and his team do another series of this. Ideally this really needs to be on 52 weeks a year to show up the mass news media for the shambles it is.

only a few, but I reckon the runners would be doing a lot of the actual recording and noting down anything worthwhile...by the looks of it though it's mostly just sky news they're watching :p
Bloody tiny space they have to do it all in after seeing there office.
Love all the fox news clips myself, got addicted to them during the whole US election
