just finished leon's and preferred the first half of his campaign before you get to the city

    now playing chris's...

sits at a 7/10 for me atm...

The key hunts are really. In the old games they were used to guide you around. Find the heart key and you know you have to go to the heart door. It was basically waypoint marker, but now the game already has a waypoint marker, which it doesn't need anyway because it's completely linear.

So there are in effect, two waypoint markers for a game in which it's impossible to go the wrong way.

Yeah they can be tedious at times but keep you on your feet. I'm just starting Ada's campaign and the character graphics and face animation is great.

I thought the graphics and art direction in general were amazing most of the time. The way some monsters explode into gruesome mutations is almost worth the price of the game alone.

I miss the tactics of old, where you clear a path that you commonly used. Then the game can scare you when an area you think is safe isn't any more. Without backtracking and I'm gonna say it again, in game Ex files the environment just blurs by.

Seen the pics of the pulled back camera on the front page?

Surprising just how much more playable it looks.

nearing the end of chris's campaign and not been as enjoyable as leon's (the earlier half of which is still my favourite)

    been perfectly adequate, though

It does look better. Patch in December, around the time this game hits the 15 quid mark. Sounds good..

As always, I'm really sorry about my rampant self-promotion, but I thought I'd share this thing that I made:

My Resi 6 review plus a competition to win Resi 6 hoodies and watches.

Caution, contains positive remarks about the game.

If you fancy winning some Resident Evil 6 swag, check it out :)

    Thanks,

    Joe

Part of me thinks its bad idea and would signal the end of the remnants old resi but another thinks that the key thing wrong with Resi is its lacking a person with a clear vision for the franchise

There's nothing of the old Resi left anyway. If I were Capcom I'd chop my balls off to get him on board.

The bare-faced arrogance in that tweet is astounding: 'call me'.

    Fuck off Cliff.

They may as well. The pandering to gears would come full circle then.

This is the game cunt-face would make anyway, just with more shooting and things to cover behind.

Just (somehow) managed to finish the main chunk of the game then decided to start Ada's campaign, more of the same shit so switched it off. Disc ejected and ready to be sold for cash at CEX.

The game honestly started at about 7 or 8 out of 10 but the more I played the more the score gradually went down and finished on about a 4/10. it ends up feeling so tedious and face punchingly irritating to play.

Get Cliff for Gods sake, just do something, kill the series off if you must, just don't make another one like this (or RE5).
the first part of your post summed my feelings up exactly - couldn't be arsed starting again, even though i've heard ada's is the best campaign, the emphasis on stealth put me right off

the second part i agree partly on, but it felt like about a 6.5/7 out of 10 by the end - i got plenty of enjoyment out of leon's campaign, which i think was my favourite but the other two were ok...at least sherry's was shorter...;)

but overall i enjoyed it more than 5 but it's almost as if they should have taken the best elements from the three campaigns and made one decent one..not often i complain about too much gaming.....

playing downpour now and it's much more my cup of survival horror.....

i'm quite impressed with it as a silent hill fan - very old school feel to it, especially when you arrive in silent hill

the enemies are a bit shonky as is combat (as ever...;)

but the puzzling is there, the exploration is ther and the atmosphere is there

it's just over 12 quid on amazon atm as well - bargainous!
