I enjoyed 5. It itched the same scratch as an rpg for me. Replaying levels to get cash to raise the stats of my weapons. I find this kind of grind to be OCD therapeutic.
Same here, it turned into quite a shooting gallery with slick graphics and tight controls.
The demo for 6 never gave me that impression though
It doesn't have this, based on what I've played so far. You pick up skill points to upgrade skills/perks, but it's nothing like the weapon upgrades (I liked that element of RE5 too). You get too few points to spend much time picking skills, and they don't add enough to the game to make it a notable feature IMO.

I've decided to play RE6 like I would watch a weekly TV show; therefore the same friend and I will tackle a chapter or two a week until we've done all three campaigns. Eeking out the game, and hopefully making it an even more fun experience.

I think playing through the game in a few longer sessions will just annoy me, as even though I'm enjoying the game, the over the top action sequences will get a bit much I'm sure.

I played RE5 through in a few days (couch co-op) and by the end it annoyed the tits off me. Still haven't touched the DLC though.

    Ah, pity.

Still; I've rented it from Blockbuster, if it grabs me between now and Friday, when I pick up Dishonored, I may buy it.

Stupid question, but this does have local co-op yes? 5 was immensely fun with this for me but I couldn't seem to find this in 6's demo.
Been playing this exclusively in couch co-op and it makes the game even better IMO.

Like Resi 5, you dont get a full half of the screen to yourself, but the co-op definitely enhances the game.

I really liked the Lost in Nightmares DLC, it was more Resident evil than the entire of 5, it just need some old style zombies shambling about. It had a really creep atomsphere and quite tense in places

This doesn't mean they'll add an AI to Adas if you play singleplayer does it? I was looking forward to being alone for once!

Lost in Nightmares was a short sharp taste of pure awesome. I hope they do something similar for this.

...Downloading the Gold edition via ps+ as we speak. I assume I can start with the dlc ?

You have to reach the point in the game where you get the "Jill and Chris flashback to mansion" cut-scene.

You should be warned that, however great I think it is, LiN is all of 15 minutes long.

Really? Thought it was rather rubbish and after encountering the same poorly designed enemy over and over again, the only thing that got lost was my interest.

LiN has its moments. Not very long though and you can't use the 'classic' camera once you drop into the basement area, that sucked.

Really enjoying the game so far, and I fail to understand why it gets so much hate (and I don't really care). It's like a huge, bombastic ghost train.

Indeed, I actually like how unrestrained it is, it may not be scary but it tries so hard to constantly entertain you in new and ridiculous ways that you can't help but get swept up in it all!

You can totally help it. I don't even have to try.

My thoughts exactly, it's popcorn gaming at its best IMO.

There are times where you want a dark souls, a deus ex or a ninja gaiden, and times where you want to play something like RE6. For the record, I had the same feelings about RE4 and 5. Unrestrained, intense, hugely entertaining games.
