Hmm, interesting. That's probably my least favourite Stone Roses track. But I don't think they've done too bad a job of it.

Well that's less time than it took them to come up with the Second Coming anyway.

Hah, I was having a look for any information on what they're doing only a few days ago

No thanks. Only just reconciled myself with the fact that they taxtoured a couple of years ago and it wasn't a personal insult directed my way.

There's always that hope, eh? I was fine with the tour etc, I knew it was a shameless cash in and that's fine. Worked for me too.

After a decade of rumours, promises, articles, interviews and artwork all expressing contempt for the idea it felt pretty shady. Plus I have yet to think of a band that reforms and records something that doesn't make me gag, let alone something I enjoy.

    Damn my cynicism.

A new album? I hope this turns out to be true.

I just hope it turns out better than their second one!

It was ok, but definitely a bit iffy at the time. I was so disappointed, I even gave my double vinyl away. I wish i still had it now mind.

Nahh, I loved the Second Coming. Breaking Into Heaven, Begging You, Love Spreads, Driving South, How do you Sleep?, amazing stuff.

As much as I loved the Stone Roses first album and EPs, the idea of going to see them in some massive gig full of pissed up singalong muppets and Ian Brown's joke of a voice isn't very appealing.

@Armoured_Bear Agreed. But Second Coming was pretty damn good (despite blatant Led Zeppelin influences). However...

    Fuck. This. Noise.

Saw them at Heaton Park last time around. Kids were trying to control the 40 something parents :-)

We had a great day out. All the bars in Manchester were playing Stone Roses tracks and even on the tram on the way to the stadium. A very happy day.

I think by the end of the week, they'll announce the name of the new album, release date and perhaps even a track off it.

Aye, but that's only the good songs on it. The other half of the album was fairly mediocre sadly.

Love Tears myself, for all that it's just a John Squire guitarwank.

I too had a blinding day when I saw them, loved every minute, pissed and singing along like a muppet. It was incredible. And I was very, very hungover.

It might be one of those lame best ofs with a two new tracks type affairs?

Exactly, I'm just far too much of a music snob/twat.

And you can say what you like about Ian Brown but his solo work pisses all over any of the dad/pub Rock nonsense that John Squire came up with post Roses.

Also..factoid..my band has released two albums on Revolver....the label where the Roses famously chucked paint all over the label head.

Oh god aye. The Seahorses wan't it? I quite liked the first single, but the album made Second Coming seem like a great record.
