    Here's the Guardian web bit posted only an hour ago which states that Ian Brown has "signed on the dotted line". Get ready for the fastest sell out tour ever. I feel giddy!

    As much as I would love to see this happen, I just can't see it. I would love to be proved wrong though.

    Singing has been fine for the last 4 or 5 times I've seen him over the last 4 or 5 years. There's the odd ropey moments still, but the whole live setup now is more in tune with brown's voice... even the recently added roses tunes sounded good.

    Best live performance was the Golden Greats tour though... voice was spot on!

    Worst, probably V98/99 (can;t remember which) but the charlatans were playing on the main stage at the same time. There were constant arguments with the v staff and it was just plain awful :(

    Liverpool Royal Court or whatever it is now btw, support band were top to boot, 'Regular Fries', you really should check um out, if you haven't already!

    So what? It's not just about the singing.

    I'd rather see Brown sing Waterfall, or All Across the Sands than any of the current crop of British indietoss do anything.

    It would be tremendous if this turns out to be true.

    I've seen The Complete Stone Roses a couple of times - always thought that's the closest I'd get to hearing the music played live.
    That, and my legendary renditions of Sally Cinammon in the 19th Hole bar on Vilamoura marina...
    (There's one lurker out there who knows what I'm talking about!)

    I remember in my first year at uni the Complete Stone Roses played and loads of people I knew went and bought tickets thinking that they were seeing the "complete" Stone Roses on their triumphant comeback tour.

    I tried to tell them, but they were adament that they were going to see the original band.

    And I bet these new rumours are false.
