Let's face it, this is one of the best films in years! I'm off to see it for a 3rd time tomorrow night and I'm really looking forward to it.

    Funniest bit for me is

when Stark prods Banner with a pointy thing and looks straight into his eyes.

Just little touches like that (and there's lots of them) that make the film wonderful.
yeah I loved that bit, piss funny.

what was with Captain america giving Nick fury the dollars?

Fury bet him $10 that there would be something that would amaze Captain America.

It wasn't too bad in 3D Olly, especially the Iron man fly-around-shooty-shooty bits

    @OllyJ

You really shouldn't have missed that, it was an important conversation between the 2 of them in the gym.

Didn't you see the Captain America film? It's worth seeing imho and reminiscent of the 'Rocketeer' that was also good fun.

It's weird how in Thor they seemingly make a big deal of the fact that Thor was stuck in Asguard, and the bridge between the worlds was destroyed. if I remember right, they set it up like they are going to try and reopen the gateway from Earth, but they were isolated

Then in Avengers he gets zapped back without much trouble and they explain it in a line of dialogue

It felt odd, since the films were so made close together, why did they write themselves into a corner? Was getting Thor back to Earth going to be a bigger deal, but they didn't really have time for it in Avengers in the end?

    /may be misremembered

Just been reading about the end of credits sequence they filmed, which didn't make the UK print. Not that one. Another one to go right at the end. Looks funny but it's a LQ image. Details below,

    Spoiler??

Jesus! This film is just about pitch perfect. I'm actually in awe of how they managed to flesh out and weight each character's on screen presence fairly AND get the requisite cool signature pieces for each whilst still holding together a (reasonably) cohesive plot, whilst cramming in more humour, references, nods and cameos than any one film has a right to contain.

It's a shining example of how a superhero movie should be strapped together, in fact it's probably the best bonafide blockbuster I've seen in years. Stick that in your slow-motion smug porno-pipe Mr Bay, this geek just showed you how to do it proper.

    Also, Johansson was fucking fit!

I was really interested to see how they would make him return too. But I think it was more down to that his return was a cool moment, a 5 minute scene explaining how he found out about Loki and how they managed to send him back would have felt out of place and disrupted the whole forest fight/scenes.

I guess they could probably use the cube back in Asgard now to replace that bridge.

Brilliant film. Feels weird though, a film you've been looking forward to for so long and now it's over. Will probably see it again with another mate next week.

Good film, really enjoyed it. Hulk Definately steals the show for me. I was genuinely amused in all his(few) scenes.
(And Thor. Made amends for how shit his solo film is/was.)

Still got no desire to see Cap'n America though, dunno why.

I enjoyed the Hulk in this film but I was puzzled by how one moment he's out of control on the heli-carrier and the next he's in control for the finale? My guess is that trigger for the change is the reason but it is glossed over imho.

Yeah I did see it, I was a bit underwhelmed by it, but he was brilliant in it.

Need to give it another go.

Hulk's anger is like those magic love potions, or when a duckling is born. It's directed at the first thing it sees.

My take on it is this. On the heli-carrier, right before BB changes he's furious because its dawning on him that not only is Loki pulling his strings from afar (using the staff)...Fury has been lying and looking into manufacturing weapons from the power in the cosmic cube and the illusion of him being free to do what he wants where he wants on the heli and being trusted is just that, an illusion. Fury doesn't want him anywhere else but in 'his special laboratory/cell'. He looses it and turns into the other guy but because he lost control and changed without wanting to the Hulk is in charge and so he goes on a rampage.

The second time Banner has control of the situation and like he says, he's 'always angry' so when he changes under his own will he has control over the hulk.

Sure its explained like that in a few of the comics ive read.

I thought it was more that he was angry at Shield when he changed hence that's what he was attacking.
