No, you got it right: When he can't hold the rage in the Hulk tries to batter everything. When he goes for the bad guys and lefts it out on he own accord he (somewhat) can. That's it, that's the logic - it's pretty straightforward.

Edit: Though they do treat it as something of a reveal, admittedly. I thought it was one of the best moments in the film.

In the street battle he was "calm" so when he Hulked out he was able to direct his anger at the right enemy, with the occasional lash out at Thor.
    Ok, ta.

The comedy bit when Loki tried to talk him out of battering him was excellent :-)

Its also down to who he's angry with at the time. On the heli carrier its everyone! Loki's manipulating him. Fury and shield have been manipulating him and hid the fact they were developing WMD's with the cube (remember banners a doctor and a scientist who wants help people, not vaporize them). When Black Widows asks him to remove himself from the room he directs his anger at her. Just after that an explosion goes off which probably injures him a little after the fall (he's only human at the time, not a superhero or trained assassin), more anger, then Hulk takes over and he has little to no control. You can see him look at Black Widow just before he fully changes in a kind of "I'm sorry, but you need to get the fuck away from me NOW!" way.

The second time he's got full control, he knows who he's angry at so he lets it out and directs it at the Chitauri.

EDIT: Also what Derb said on the last page ;)

Yesterday was a really good day. Finally sat down and watched Iron Man 1 and 2, Thor and the Incredible Hulk. Also managed to platinum UC3, not that it bears any relation to the topic at hand.

I think I'll drag myself to the cinema to see this today.

Well this has leaked (HD and DVD versions) a month before release! Never known them to show up that early. I'm assuming from some disc pressing plant somewhere.

    You dare to strike Scurrcules!?

Nah, they usually show up this early. About a month from release.

Cancelled my Blu-Ray pre-order, not usually that into the extras but the UK disc has been stripped of most of the features on the US version which sound pretty good from the reviews.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but apparently Sainsbury's have an exclusive BR edition with "90 minutes of unseen footage". It's heavily suggested that is extra film footage and not shit like commentaries etc.

If it is, that may well be the one to get.

    EDIT: It's a 90-minute documentary. What a misleading advert.

Not being funny, but do most people even listen to those? Interviews and extra stuff separately in menus then sure, but commentaries over the film tends to annoy me as much as people talking in the cinema does.

If I enjoyed the film, I often rewatch it with the commentary on.

I've watched some of them (like the Godfather, etc), but I'd sort of rather watch some sort of documentary - if only because it would give people enough time to elaborate on their thoughts instead of having to keep track with the pace of the film itself.

I love the idea of commentaries, but in reality I can never be bothered to watch them for those reasons above (not least because I never get the time to watch a film by myself uninterrupted). I'd rather watch a dedicated documentary or read a textbook on the subject where enough time could be given to the points being made.

    The only decent commentaries are:

    The Thing (original)

    and

    anything Bruce Campbell does.

Also Total Recall is worth it once for a laugh due to how stupid Arnie comes across as.

"DIS IS ME. I AM A CONSTRUCTION WORKER."

It's pros and cons. Often the act of watching the film reminds the commentators of some background detail that they'd otherwise have forgotten about, and I do enjoy the live nature of commentaries. Most documentaries included on DVDs are truly dire too.

Most special features in general are bollocks. Making of documentaries are, the vast majority of the time, shitty promo stuff that's either an extended advert, talking heads of the actors gushing over each other, or both combined into one glorious whole.

I like the "This Is Spinal Tap" commentary track. It's mainly them going "He's dead now, she's dead now, he's dead now" "Oh no! Really?"

HERE IM SHOOTING A GUY IN DA FACE.

It's excellent. It's also funny to hear him arguing with verheoven about whether it's literal or not.

Same here. Not all are great, but many are.

The commentary tracks on the 'Breaking Bad' Blu-rays are excellent - there's less of them on the earlier seasons, but season 4 has a mixed cast and crew commentary for every episode.

Does anyone know why it's seemingly impossible to find the UK version of the blu-ray anywhere? There only see to be import versions available (which are more expensive than I'd like).

Ah, for some reason I'd assumed that was an import, given the price. I couldn't find it at all on the High Street, although that isn't many shops these days. Seemed odd given that it's such a new release.
