    Wish I'd held off Monkey Ball actually, not working for me at all :-(

    ... I could always 'save' the credit until there's something I *really* want. Lunacy.

    @Murbal

    I didn't mean to damn it with faint praise! It's fun enough, just a bit rough around the edges. Assassins Creed on the other hand I bought full price and have yet to get more than an hour into, despite repeated attempts.

    Just thought I'd put you off that one too.

    Ok. This has been bugging me for a while, but was too scared of coming across as a complete dumb noob for asking. I have to ask though, so I'm fully prepared for the incoming ridicule!

    What do the coloured 'online indicators' mean on the Friend's List? The blue means currently online, and the red 'x' means offine, that much is pretty obvious. But wtf does the orange blob mean?

    @el_pollo_diablo perhaps I will save my money. Or buy digital copies of Muramasa and Everybody's Golf so I can sell the carts...

    'not available'
    Their status is manually set to 'busy' or somesuch, or the Vita is on standby?

    Had a go on Blazblue for 5 mins yesterday. Really intriguing but being a bit crap and nevet having really got fighting games, it just kind of baffled me. I had no idea what was going on and can't see myself ever getting to grips with it.

    Really nice graphics and style though.

    Heeeyyy! I've found it a fun little game so far. It feels like a badly acted B-movie, which can be entertaining, and I enjoy the kill things/get loot/do quests gameplay. I've put many hours into it.

    Tempted by AC:L, too, but I still feel like it will be a Plus game at some point.

    Blazblue is an incredibly good fighter. Huge fun. (Persona 4 Arena stomps all over it though as the best fighter since SFII)

    But quite simply fighting games just don't work too well on the Vita. I've played a ton of Blazblue Calamity Trigger, and Continuum Shift on 360 using a controller, and found it near unplayable with the Vita's delicate buttons and analog sticks getting in the way. Plus there is no way I'm about to punish my 150 device with a traditionally controller destroying genre of games.

    I think the last fighting game I spent any decent amount of time with was Soul Calibur 2 back in my uni days, plenty of pre and post pub combat. That was a nice accessible one!

    I'm glad you've said that. SFIV looked amazing on Vita and I thought - yup - this is going to stay on my memory card a long time but in truth it just doesn't fit the handheld for some reason.

    Virtua Fighter is fighting games. No point of playing anything else tbh, although I doubt an iteration will come to vita.

    I own Blazblue, Mortal Kombat & SFxTekken all from PS+. No intention on playing any of them. Tried Blazblue on Vita a while back and found it utterly impenetrable but also quite beautiful.

    Its really hard. There are a million different game systems and the characters are all insanely different with their own systems and distortion drives.

    In street fighter, you have ken, ryu, akuma who are all, basically, the same but in this every fighter is totally different and takes a lot of learning.

    The only person who I am even half decent with is Noel Vermillion.

    ---------------------------------------------------------
    He totally called it

    Noel is probably the most fun character to play as in any fighting game ever.

    Picked up Metal Slug XX in the sale, because I can't wait that long for Broforce to arrive. It's still amazing.

    Another thumbs up for Soul Sacrifice. I was a bit meh about my new Vita, I thought I'd end up playing pinball on it and not much else on a regular basis, but it is drawing me in.

    @TheMayorOfJugs next month I think.

    I'm now thinking of buying Valhalla Knights as a social experiment. Santashi won't be alone then either...

    @Murbal Cheers Murbz!

    Valhalla Knights isn't bad, definitely worth a punt at that sale price... I imagine the sequels are better, though I need to lodge some bank munnehz before I can confirm.

    @TheMayorOfJugs it's actually VK3 I'm looking at. No point in starting at the beginning with games like that. Newest latest. Best?

    I am really glad I spent my money on a whim to get a vita. I have never really taken to portable gaming, but from the games of LBP, Sonic Racing Transformed, Flower and the bit of remote play Resogun I have managed to play, I am completely sold on it.

    Should have got one ages ago.
    Being able to play a PS3 port, a multiformat title, a PS4 game and a Vita version of a PS3 game on a portable console has sold it to you.

    See, this is where I differ from a lot of people. I can play 3 of the 4 games on a bigger screen and I doubt I'd miss anything by playing LBP2 over LBP Vita.

    For me I want more like Gravity Rush and Tearaway. The latter especially. Now that's a great case for more decent budget VIta exclusives.

    Eh? I was just listing some games I had enjoyed playing on it. How dare I have the gall to do that.

    I find the vita far more enjoyable to play with compared the gameboy, gamegear, ds etc.

    All the various controls and touch interfaces make it more interesting and involving to play for me. I enjoy all the ways you can interact with the worlds via those. LBP, Flower and Tearaway especially because of that. As does our son.

    Obviously YMMV. Sheesh.

    Yes dude, they're the "lot of people" I'm referring to.

    To be honest I caned Tearaway over this Christmas break. Perfect title for it as I was travelling to see family and mates and it's such a positive, charming title that complemented the cheery Xmas atmosphere of the time.
