Ok. Got to say I'm really pleased with Soul Sacrifice, d/led via PS Plus. Wasn't expecting it to be so addictive.

I've always felt drawn to the idea of the Monster Hunter games, but found the reality to be a load screen infested, abysmally controlling (on the PSP at least) letdown. I found it impossible to enjoy. I've tried multiple times as the basic idea is right up my street, and I understood why it is so huge in Japan, but I hated it every time.

Soul Sacrifice might effectively be a copycat, but it's a copycat which has drained out all the shit. And I love it. It'll fill the medieval boss-rush gap brilliantly until Dark Souls 2 hits. And it makes for a perfect handheld game as well.

With my brief try of Soul Sacrifice I kind of agree but I do find the style and general art lacking. While the mechanics and idea are solid the world itself is just not a pleasant experience.

I will push on however and see info get into it.

Known as 'Sharzam' in 98.5% of games

Soul Sacrifice was my worst purchase of 2013. I can see it's clearly not rubbish and understand on some level why it's regarded well by loads of people, but I thoroughly disliked almost every element of it - graphics, design, setting, gameplay, uuurgh! Just did not get along with it all, despite putting about three hours into it and really trying to not hate it. Paid full price for it too, gah. Why oh why I didn't try the demo is beyond me, plus I should have known it absolutely wasn't for me by watching a few gameplay vids.

Entirely my fault, and now it's on ps+ I'm reminded of my own stupidity :(

Hello, so I got my vita from my very understanding wife. I've taken out my 14 day trial of ps+ and d/l guacamelee and uncharted. I don't see soul sacrifice on offer though. Am I missing something?

Bear in mind you won't be able to play any of the games after your 14 day trial is over unless you subscribe.

@jagg3r - would you consider a straight swap for Rayman Legends (new/sealed)?

Damascus Gear came out today on Japanese psn. It's one of the Arc System Works RPGs they announced a little while back. The first was a terrible DRPG on 3DS but this is a bit more interesting. It's a simple robot based action RPG. The good part about it being robot based is that loot forms the entirety of your character and any upgrades are reflected immediately. The control is pretty good and direct, and it seems like a fair punt for 1200 yen or so. There's a demo, and it's worth trying. Turn down the sound effects though.

@andyc1980 thanks for that, downloading it now. I'll pick up a longer ps+ subs, I was just keen to get it up and running yesterday.

Just one more question, if I don't download a game while it's free, is it no longer available for free? What if I download but then delete to save room? Is there a record that I own that game whilst my ps+ is live?

You can effectively 'buy ' them on the website though which registers then to your account if you don't have the storage / bandwidth.

Yeah, to clarify, when it is free you can click to download - which will purchase the game - then pause/cancel the download and then restart it from the Downloads list whenever your want in the future.

Okay so new vita owner as of yesterday and I love it :) Only got 16gb so for now I have wipeout 2048, uncharted, velocity ultra, sonic transformed, gravity rush and liberty city stories installed, tho not played any GR yet. Missed the Persona 4 sale yesterday but never mind! Thinking about maybe Unit 13 in the sale, wipeout HD/Fury expansions, and maybe Hotline Miami or Spelunky as they're meant to be awesome but neither really appeal to be entirely honest, I'd rather have Rogue Legacy but it's not out yet.

    Questions!

    1) why does the screen sometimes respond to my finger hovering over it not actually touching it?

    2) are the wipeout HD/Fire addons so essential there's not much point bothering to get into the basic 2048 game?

    3) are there any other 'persistant' roguelikes like Rogue Legacy?

    4) is that as low as the screen brightness goes?

    5) other than the warming I've got no space left, how do I vet an overview of what's on the card and how much space it's taking up? I can see instructions for managing the card from the PS3 or a computer, but apparently managing it from the Vita itself isn't possible?

    @TarickStonefire

    2) I loved the basic 2048 game too, but the HD+Fury add-ons are essential.

Thanks - any way to list what's taking up the most space other than selecting Information on each game?

Hold your finger on the home screen and you'll get more information on the apps (in a similar way to how you do it on the iPd).

    1) Body heat. You do know how touchscreen tech works right?

    2) No. They are not worth it imo, as they are a very jarring experience compared to vanilla 2048 due to the halved framerate. Especially steer clear if you have HD/Fury on the PS3, and if not, get that instead.

    3) I've no idea. Someone else's expertise :)

    4) You've lowered the slider in Sound & Display found under Settings? If so, then yes.

    5) Settings - System - System Information

Only if you buy them again through the store.

God, why can't someone just say "The screen is detecting the electrical field generated by your fingertip skin, not your fingertip itself."

    Layman's terms.
