Yeah it does have a greenish tint, and you can see it clearly on white/light areas. The old screen is outputting much cleaner white. But on Uncharted the OLED screen does look very orange heavy, and a bit oversaturated.

Pause at 1:53 and you can see how green the white is compared to the old Vita's nice clean white. That's a shame, because other than that, the screen looks good, and the black levels look legit for an LCD.

Up until this point all the games will have been made taking how the OLED screen works into account. This new screen having a completely different colour balance will add an extra consideration.

I had the exact same thoughts after watching the video. It's striking how different they look, and it must be annoying now as a Vita developer, not being able to cater your palette to one screen.

At least, it seems that the new Vita screen still looks pretty damned good, as long as you're not comparing it side by side with the OLED model.

Frozen Synapse Tactics. Crikey, I wasn't expecting the new perspective to look as polished as it does.

Has anyone picked up Lone Survivor yet? My internet at home has been off since Friday (Damn arsonists!) due to a data centre fire wiping 10k homes offline.

Will likely bring in my Vita tomorrow to download it on work Wifi. Weren't we meant to be getting an introductory 10% off?

My internet at home is STILL down as a result of the fire one week ago! :( :(

I've brought my Vita in to work today to download Lone Survivor on their WiFi. It should be in process now. Thank god it's not a massive game.

Bought Musou Orochi 2 Ultimate. It runs nicely on the vita as you'd expect, at a pretty constant 30 with only occasional slowdown. They've added a feature where loads of experience scrolls appear suddenly - I'll have to look into why that happens.

A few weeks ago I posted an odd problem I keep having with my Vita and the Low Battery notification keep popping up.

I though it had gone away, but sadly not. It only seems to kick in when the battery is below 50% charge, but once it does, then the Vita can't decide whether it has 30-50% charge (i.e. Green) or <10% charge (i.e. Red)- it keeps switching between the 2, with the Low Battery notification popping up everytime it goes red.

I fear the battery's on its way out, which would be a massive PITA, but then I've probably charged the thing about 500 times since buying it... I've done a hard re-set etc, but does anyone have any other ideas?

Pig - Strange it's breaking just as a new model is coming soon! *conspiracy*

In better news, managed to download Lone Survivor, Katamari and SFxT all on work's WiFi today. :D

@Flying_Pig By hard re-set do you mean factory re-set?

@aros Always good to get something free from work!

@Help_me - no not Factory, as I don't want the hassle of having to re-download everything or risk losing my saves (I assume it'll do this). Might look into it...

Do a factory. Sounds like software rather than battery to me. Back it all up to PS3 - if you have one. If you don't and you live anywhere near London or North Herts I'll willingly do it for you.

Not sure whether the PC companion does the same as the PS3 but if so, that's another option. It will take a few hours but worth ruling it out.

If it doesn't work then I would contact Sony. There is clearly a fault somewhere and they may (chances are slim here) take a look and fix it gratis. Especially as you were an early adopter (as far as I remember).

The battery should do more than 500 cycles without crapping out. Have you left it flat for any length of time?

Pretty annoying the Vita doesn't have a replaceable battery like the PSP, I wonder why they chose not to.

Battery was one means of hacking the old PSP.

Because, at the time they were designing it, they were having delusions about being Apple.

But seriously, for space considerations, I'm sure.

One antiquated means. Pretty sure it has nothing to do with that. Would be very easy to safeguard against too, seeing as they did it with newer PSPs.

The only thing I can think of is space/design. You would have thought it would be in their favour to have it replaceable, so they could sell bigger batteries.

I have a (bad?) habit of charging my Vita most nights, so I'd be surprised if it was charging it up that caused that. It would be very silly for a portable device. I do hope a factory reset sorts it out for you, FP! You can back the Vita saves up on Plus before you try.

Nice. Been playing killzone since the release date. Great game and a prime example of a quality portable fps!
