Will it? I was wondering if it would be utilising Gaikai style tech to handle it. Obviously you'd be at the mercy of the net connection at both ends.
The Vita was designed to have a certain video decoding chip inside (same as Wii U gamepad) to match the PS4's encoding chip (same as Wii U) so in the same house should be perfect as with the Wii U. It will probably work slightly better than PS3 over the internet because presumably you'd still get the benefit of the better encoding/decoding but I don't expect it will be great.

Looks like there's a game called Aabs Animals coming out today where you pet animals and... that's it. A few pence per sale will go to help animals. Looks truly awful - are Sony committed to curating junk away from PSN?

Does anyone know if minecraft is coming to the vita. I was playing MCPE this weekend on the iPad which works perfectly, but I am sure the sticks on the vita would make it easier to control.

Aha, ok. Something for me to look forward to. Shame the linky didn't work, do you know how far into game production they are by the article?

It says vita might get a version launched alongside the PS4 version. Nothing conclusive yet then?

No, it *might* launch at the same time but Notch has confirmed versions for PS4, PS3 and Vita.

Well I have no plans to buy a PS4, so I'm only interested in the vita release of MC. The iPad version will scratch that mobile itch for now.

The screen appears bigger on the new one - is that just from the way the original is angled?

Definitely a visible drop in quality though.

The colour displayed on the new vita looks very washed out. I lol'd at the comments. :D

i think he had his vita a little further form the camera. Yeah i am actually surprised by how far the quality of the screen has dropped. Obviously if you don't own a vita you wont notice/care but if my vita broke (touch wood it never does) i don't think i can handle the new type. I struggle to play 3ds games after playing the vita

Is it me or do the face buttons on the new Vita look slightly larger, almost like PSP buttons....

There was another article on TSA with a second comparison screenshot that doesn't look as bad.

Think it is best to just wait for a DF comparison.

I'll take a look when I head to Japan. In the end, the only way you're going to see whether the LCD is acceptable is to look at it. It certainly doesn't look like the compromised scanline display of the third PSP.

    @Rufus

It looks proportionally larger overall, I think. Probably trying to compete with the 7" tablet market.

It's really quite hard to tell from these photos. The second shot on The Sixth Axis is much more promising. While the Uncharted screenshots look different, neither looks "bad". While OLED will clearly be the winner, I expect it will be closer than the first screen shots make it appear and most gamers will not think of it as 'bad' unless there is an OLED screen next to it to compare with (and even then, some people won't notice the different). Will hold out on making a call until I've seen one for myself!

There's been quite a few people commenting on images of the PS4's UI streamed to the Vita and how they'd like that UI fully implemented on Vita in a future update. What do you guys think?

MEHmmings more like. I know I'm in the minority but I always found it dull, even at the height of its fame.

@jonsaan I think for me the nostalgia comes from the memories of the fun of getting to go round to my friends' houses who had these things that you could play *games* on. Sonic, Theme Hospital, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, Lemmings, etc.

Plus they always made quite a cute noise before they self destructed. :p

    The lemmings, not the computers.
