Is there any way to turn the accelerometer off at system level? The aiming in ninja gaiden is driving me mental.

Surely there is some sort of option on the (Ninja Gaiden) game, like how you can turn off similar things within the settings menu on Uncharted: Golden Abyss?

... don't think you can turn it off altogether.

@HiddenAway it says you can't redeem code online??

I remember reading PS+ codes can only be redeemed on a vita or PS3. Only codes for PSN credit, games, themes, etc can be used on the website. Easiest way would be for you to do it on a PS3 if possible as it can handle multiple accounts whereas the vita cant without messing about formatting memory cards.

I thought it maybe to so with it being a free code.

'This code cannot be redeemed on a pc'

I've tried logging in with his ID on my PS3 but says I cannot log in with another users name or something!!

Have you made sure you've logged off from your account on the PS3 before you try? Even if your account is only signed in locally I dont think it'd work.

For me there is definitely types of games I prefer on a portable to a big screen. Platformers is a big one, I love the genre but really prefer it on a handheld. I seem to be better at games on handhelds too!

Strategy games, puzzle games, most indie titles are definitely more at home on portables than anywhere else.

Speaking of platformers - I'm very nearly finished the first Jak & Daxter game. While I've enjoyed much of it, there are aspects of the game which make me wish I'd left well alone, as my treasured memories of playing this on the PS2 have now been tainted.

I'll definitely ned a break before attempting Jak II. Hotline Miami methinks...

Kinda glad I skipped J&D. Partly because I still have Sly 4 sat barely played, but mainly because it sounds like it doesn't really hold up as F_P has said.

    There's always Daxter I guess :-)

This is a game that, as yet, does not appear to have an in game quit option or, indeed, any options at all.

As far as I can see, to change the control method, you have to exit to the home page, pull the game down to clear it, load it again and then change the relevant option.

But, no, you dont appear to be able to turn it off in game which is unbelievably annoying and makes aiming impossible and, by extension, makes the part of the game where you have to clear a tower using the bow and arrow an exercise in pure hatred.

@nickthegun Is that the part not long after the mini boss on the walkway? It's a little while since I played it but I remember that I managed to turn up at that part with hardly any ammo, which didn't help matters at all. :p

@Murbal Ssh, I've been trying to ignore that one! ;)
The US did get it cheap in their Summer sale (was it $8?) so you never know what might happen in the EU one. Not that they necessarily correspond. :p

Yeah, its pretty much the next thing you do.

The accelerometer means that every time you use the touch screen it throws your aim off. Its just horrendous.

Its weird. Its still a great game and all that but the port is just a disaster. No way of quitting a game, no in game options, no way to turn the accelerometer off, awful touch screen aiming... It all feels like there has been zero care and attention gone into this at all.

Yeah, you can let the game do the talking and its still brilliant, but I do sometimes want to quit.

@Spectral I'll double check when I can, I'm sure it said an account is already registered to this machine or something or other.

Stealth Inc (AKA Stealth Bastard) confirmed for the 24th July.

No word on price yet (AFAIK), but if you buy it in the first 2 weeks, you get Teleporter Chambers DLC - an extra 20 levels - for free.

    I thought Daxter was over-rated.

In a sense, it was the purest form of platformer: get from A to B and collect things. However, there was rarely anything of interest in between. If I remember, there was no BGM. That's not a problem if you are likely to play a handheld without the sound up, but I felt the game lacked any real detail or soul. A well rendered 3D world that wasn't worth exploring. It's like toying with the Half Life 2 leak all those years ago - it all looked well enough, but hadn't been pieced together with any flair.

Daxter was pretty impressive for a handheld at the time. Agree that the gameplay itself was pretty simple, but still very well done and quite challenging towards the end. Still think it was one of the PSP's best games.

There definitely was BGM in the game, but not in the hub area, iirc.

    Now can you just confirm:

My wife was out shopping yesterday and stumbled across Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed for Vita at a ridiculously low clearance price and grabbed it for me...

So I'm late to the party, but it's a bit good isn't it! Surprisingly difficult too. I have a feeling it'll last me a long time.

It's great Roddy. It's a real shame Sega destroyed sonic with mobile games as I'd love a sequel and Lost World on Vita.

Jak & Daxter finished!! Soime terrible platforming in the final level, with unfair checkpoints, but the final battle wasn't too bad :|

Gonna get me some Hotline Miami now :D

Sounds like remote play (PS4Vita rather than PS3Vita) is confirmed for ACIV. That remote play really does make the PS4 tha bit more tempting. :o

    In other news:

-God Eater 2 has a Japanese release date of 14th November.

-Another Kickstarter game (Liege) has a PS4/Vita stretch goal.

-The Vita is getting two download only ports in Japan of Samurai Warriors 2.

-Sterk is in Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate (26th September in Japan). I'm both surprised and pleased. :p

-The Famitsu scores for Dragon's Crown and XBLADE Code: Embryo are here.

Liege looks great, I would Kickstart $10 but would not want to support it unless it does come to Vita so it's difficult to know what to do. I wish some of these games would have Vita as their main Kickstarter goal as it would make the decision to support them a LOT easier.

Two 9s and two 8s in Famitsu for Dragon's Crown is a good result in my book. Can't wait for the game.

Thanks for the news update Santashi, I always enjoy your heads up of news that isn't reported for the most part.

Is the 3G worth going for? Is it just for online gaming?
