I agree, MRM comes across as a mobile game except mobile games in that genre can have more depth. For example Flight Control does it better.

Sounds like MotoGP 2013 is actually pretty good...|
I NEED a new racing game so have just ordered this from ShopTo.net for £28 |
All reviews are good in this one.

Indeed, I've never read anything on PocketGamer before, but their Vita reviews are pretty decent and it's nice to see someone give it the exposure it deserves
/glares at EG -_-
|I like my ShopTo email a few minutes ago showing the parcel on its way!|
Flying_Pig wrote:Their reviews are generally awful - they lack even basic knowledge regarding the device and critisise everything as the whole site is based around being iOS fanboys.
That said, if they rate a Vita game highly then you can be pretty sure it's very good!
Less than a pint...

Moto GP looks great, but it's not for me. I've tried so hard to get into these games in the past.|
Corner, break, fall off, straight....ok getting this now...weeee.....break, corner, touch other rider, fall off....get back on fall off via huge wheelie....decent racing ...get up to about ninth....corner...fall offf...last....
It does for me Dave? I'll test more later to be sure exactly how I get it happening.|
Total Recoil an overhead shooter (described as COD meets old skool arcade shooters) has been revealed on the ps blog.
It sounds pretty awesome and is, wait for it, a VITA EXCLUSIVE!
It makes use of touch front and rear in addition to button controls for an innovative take on a traditional game type. They state it can only be done on Vita.
It will launch next week, 3rd July at a price of only £1.99!
Definitely a must buy for me, will you guys be picking this one up?
Shahid also stated there will be a lot of game releases in July so hopefully we can anticipate some awaited titles or even new reveals.
The dev of Total Recoil has now confirmed to me on the blog that the game will have 40 levels and will take at least 12 hours to complete! An awesome amount of content for £2 IMO.|
They also stated that if the game meets expectations they will be bringing out more Vita titles as they love the device.
aros wrote:Don't think its a vita exclusive as its free on the android play store. Looks good though.
Does anyone use 3G with the vita? |
If so, do you have to sign up for a contract, is it Vodafone only, what are the data charges like.
Wouldn't mind activating a sim if I could top it up as a 'pay as you go' data charges.
Having to stay at work through the night on Sunday and wouldn't mind still been connected.
|Ah, my mistake. It seemed to be implied it was an exclusive but obviously it's not. Still sounds good though.|
From investigating it on Google Play it seems like it is pretty highly rated but crippled by IAP and adverts. Hopefully this version has more content and with the removal of adverts and premium currency combined with improvements in other areas, particularly control and trophy support we could have a gem on our hands. The Google Play edition is up to 2.04 too so hopefully we see the benefits of iteration.|
With the heavily improved mobile titles, psone and psp support the Vita is fast becoming what I hoped the Xperia Play would be. Even though as an emulation device I'm still not tempted to upgrade my Play despite it being cripplingly slow and out of contract now!
Edit: I just downloaded the Android version and played the training and first level and it was pretty fun and will be extremely strongly improved by actual controls. The bits that appear as if they will remain touch screen also work well, with buttons on the left and right side of the screen, the action pauses and zooms out when you select one of these options allowing you to use the touch screen control without dying as you take your fingers off the sticks. Overall I'm looking forward to this one a lot now.

|@NeverEatYellowSnow I have the 3G version and use the Virgin sim that came with it. If you top it up by £5 then it will last for 30 days. It also gave me Wipeout when I did my first topup. I don't have a 3G phone so it can come in handy at times. I only top up when I know I'll be using it.|

|Cheers chaps, looking into it looks like its pretty limited to what can be done. Maybe not worthwhile activating it, not keen on losing at money after 30 days even if its only a fiver especially as ill be only using it once in a blue moon.|
|Got my cradle from VG+ earlier. It's tiny. Quite nice though, and sitting the Vita on is alot less fiddly than the charger connection might suggest. Bit expensive for what it is but I can't live without a cradle post-3DS.|
Played a bit of Jak & Daxter last night. No frame rate issues yet, although the platforming feels clunky and the camera is quite restricted. |
And that f**king fishing mini game is so frustrating!
Still, an awesome game!!
gamingdave wrote:Seems to be a bug - controls correctly in the pre/post-chapter scenes with the reticule following your movement, but in game it's locked. Using square a lot helps, but it's really difficult to meleé with a gun when you get in trouble.
|Thats true it only follows between chapters actually, although I am getting better at using both sticks.|
