    @Short-Round

Maybe try HMV if there is one near you, they had SF v Tekken for 14.99 in my one but not much else.

Picked up a Vita cheap when in the US last week. It's the 3G/Wifi version. 3G is locked to AT&T unfortunately but I would not bother with it anyway.

What sold me was the included 1 year playstation plus subscription. Really impressed by it especially the fact that it includes PS3 games also.

Once I signed up to a new account in the US with a US ip address everything has worked perfectly since, Activating subscription on PS3 worked too.

All in all, very impressed with it. Just waiting for my 16GB card from Amazon now.

Any good strategy/Advance Wars type games for it yet?

There's nothing similar to Advance Wars that I know of, but SRPG-wise you're well catered for with Disgaea 3, and Valkyria Chronicles 2 on PSP.

There aren't many outstanding games in any genre but there are a few that are worth checking out.

Little Big Planet is probably the best game on it.

Unit 13 is a decent shooter, nothing earth shattering but playable.

Rayman is good too but it's a cut down version of the console versions which you could probably find for a lot cheaper.

I would love some strategy options on the vita. Sorely lacking in that department.

That reminds me..... Wasn't there a turn based ww2 game due out?

Rayman is only cut down in the sense that it's on a smaller screen. There's actually more to do in the sense they've added some touch screen collectibles on top of the original full game.

All opinions of course but unit 13 is the last game I'd recommend given what else is out there. Plenty of better options.

I was going to say i don't think Rayman is cut down at all. It's like for like quality wise but is cheaper on the home consoles so i'm led to believe.

Progg is probably referring to the lack of co-op in Rayman but that's not such a big deal.

It's a beautiful looking game on Vita too. Hope Rayman Legends makes it's way to Vita. Doubt it though.

Cheers man! I would've needed to top up my ps+ next month anyway so free FIFA 13 is a bonus!

Loving my vita btw. Had it for over 2 weeks now and have so many games stored up from ps+. Just completed uncharted and thoroughly enjoyed it. Started LBP and it's pretty good so far :)

Rayman Origins on Vita is great. Best game I've played on the Vita, and co-op aside it's exactly the same as the home console versions.

Thanks dude, but no joy in my local HMV (I would have loved SFxT at that price as well as UMvC3). They did have Monkey Ball Vita for 4.99, but I walked out with Prof Layton Miracle Mask for 14.99 instead.

Something is up with game retail at the moment. The girl in HMV said they're only getting limited stock of stuff, and only blockbuster titles, and the girl in Curry's said the same thing (apparently Curry's are now not selling any games).

Rayman is a great game on the vita, pretty tough to platinum though.

A western-style SRPG is the one type of game that the Vita is missing, I think.

I've tried Disgaea 2 and VC2 on the PSP. I really thought I would get into the latter in particular, but I just couldn't - Japanese art like in those games don't resonate with me at best, but when it's laid on thick and full of cliches it can put me off.

If I had unlimited resources and could justify a 3DS, the early Ghost Recon title would have been my first purchase.

Am I correct that a recent update stopped the Vita disconnecting from the Wifi when in sleep-mode?

Correct. It's configurable though in the Settings.

I'm on 1mb at home  but 8mb at work.

Sorry, dumb question: where is the option in the settings?

Edit: Oh wait, I didn't have the latest update. Must not have been compulsory.

Disgaea is very similar to Advance wars if you think about it.

    Daft story - check
Grid based unit movement - check
    Animated attacks - check

    FCUTA!

Wow. I had no idea that I that paying via credit card for PSN credit offered more denominations. I was dreading adding more than I needed.

It's reasonable safe to have my CC info on there now, right?

@ZizouFC - I've had the same credit card on PSN since day 1, and only changed my password after the hacking thing. Never had any issues.

I've poured hundreds of hours into the Disgaea games. Brilliant, endless, addictive, strategic fun. I do hope they stick the fourth one on the Vita at some point.
