Without me having to read the whole thread, somebody tell me what's good about Soul Sacrifice other than it's an exclusive.

VLR is brilliant! I'd say the puzzles take up quite a bit of the game time, but it's the choices that I found most exciting.

Some plot twists should have you screaming 'whaaaattt?' at the screen.

I'm hardly the best judge of breasts but that Dragon's Crown trailer is ridiculous.

    They're barely hanging in there!!

Interestingly, I was pondering the exact same thing earlier this morning. I like the whole 3rd person hack 'n' slasher as much as the next man, but oddly quite disliked the Monster Hunter game I played, and didn't enjoy the Ragnarok Odyssey demo.

I'm gonna stick with my pre-order because the impressions from people who've played it is very positive and, well, I want to support the Vita.

We're promised a demo in the next few weeks, which should confirm my feelings.

@Flying_Pig there's something about the SS graphical style that doesn't really work for me. It's all too dark and grimy.

Did someone say boobs? I must investigate!

Edit:it looks like a 4 player streets of rage. Looks pretty damn cool. I'm not sold on the art style though.

Is Soul Sacrifice out soon then? I'll check out the demo if there is one, other than that, meh. It looks like a Monster Hunter-type game to me, something I have very little interest in.

    May 1st says wiki.

Myeslf, I tried playing MGS seeing I got PS+. It's awful! Apart from the excruciating extended radio conversations, I really just don't think it's suited to the form-factor of the vita. I haven't played an MG game since MGS on the original PS, but this just isn't clicking with me at all :/

Hoping MGS is in the possible upcoming sale.

    Along with Locoroco, and Patapon.

I'm not going to feel guilty about not supporting the Vita by omitting SS given how many Vita games I have coming at the end of the month. :D (Prepaid preorder buses- I paid for them over a period of time, not all in one go!) My handheld gaming is taken care of for quite some time. ;)

Edit: Not sure why I said handheld since my gaming is almost excusively portable these days!

I think the MGS games are fine on the Vita. Yes, the cut scenes and radio conversations are long, and the controls very clunky, but that's what makes MGS what it is.

Which one are you playing Chopsen? Regardless, I'd recommend you persevere and it will get better!

My 5 Virtua Tennis 4 arrived from Game this morning, bargain. This is more what I was looking for, looks and plays great (and shows up how accurate/sensitive the Vita analogue sticks are). Must say, I don't get the love for all these time-sink anime styled rpg's, games like this and LBP are what I'm hoping for more of - and puzzle/arcade games.

Is the Ducktales remake coming to Vita?

I've taken a liking to the conventional JRPGs - the Final Fantasy's etc.

But the ones that are basically like a cartoon version of Japanese Hollyoaks and stuff - not for me.

Even though I've been interested from the start, I've so far managed to stop myself from buying a Vita but with the games I've been acquiring from PS+ it's getting harder and harder to do so. That being said, with E3 just around the corner (where a new model/ price cut could be announced) it would be pretty stupid to buy a Vita right now, right?

Also, apart from Tearaway are there any other big retail games on the horizon?

Soul Sacrifice is the only other major exclusive I can think of. There's that Batman spin-off game coming in October, as well as possibly a new Assassin's Creed.

Loads of indie ports announced recently though. But you're right, unless you find a ridiculously good deal, best to wait until after E3, just in case they announced a price-cut/revision (not that the console necessarily needs one).

Exactly my thoughts. Doesn't make it any easier to hold on though.

Not sure what they could do in a hardware revision, other than internal storage. It's a genuinely great piece of kit as it is, and I can't see the hardware getting any cheaper than it is on the EU Amazon's right now. Storage space is my only gripe.

Internal storage is an obvious one, but I'd love to see an even bigger screen. 5" seemed massive when the console was first announced, but since then most modern smartphones are approaching that size anyway. If they can somehow add an extra inch or two whilst keeping the hardware dimensions roughly the same, that would be awesome.

I got the HD collection on the cheap and I tried playing MGS2. I found it extremely dated and not much fun to play, it might have been better with a big screen + normal controller. It's got nothing to do with the codec and cutscenes, it's the gameplay that's the problem. It's just so cumbersome, I'm a big fan of the series so I know what they're like. You can see a clear difference between a game that was designed for a handheld (Peace Walker) and this one. It feels like you're fighting with the controls a lot of the time.

Sums it up exactly for me. Just didn't gel right and was a complete faff.

It cost me nothing and I've still got a backlog of games to play, so I'm not going to worry too much about it tho!

I hate the small size of the start and select buttons, and the fact that the right stick is too close to the playstation buttons. Not that they're gonna change that. Is E3 in June? Long time to wait I see...

    @MatMan562

    Killzone
    Soul Sacrifice
    Tearaway
    Dragons Crown
    God eater 2

Can't believe the comments about soul sacrifice. A dark and difficult monster hunter style game ticks every box for me but each to their own!

30 quid for several hundred hours of game play is also a bargain ;)
