The correct advice in this case would be: if you don't have PS+, get it now and grab all the Vita games and you'll never have to buy a game for it, ever.
See that worries me. Is that a hole in Sony's logic? Is it a sustainable business model?
I'd imagine they're making enough profit from the extravagant mark-up on the memory card prices to offset any losses from PS+; in fact I'd wager they make more dosh this way, as you're more likely to buy a second-hand game than a second-hand memory card (these games on PS+ are digital after all, so a mem-card is a requirement).
That is the biggest load of bolx I've heard yet. No chance.

You won't have to buy a game for it ever. Unless of course you want a game that isn't on plus. Of which there are many. So you will. Unless you are incredibly patient and of course psychic.

I imagine having lots of people sign up to PS+ would be a good idea with PS4 just around the corner. It might swing a few purchases.

I didn't realise you could download Vita games to your PS3 with PS+ mind, that's pretty interesting.

Yeh I'm covered with + until october next year aha, so if sony announce something pleasing about + regarding PS4 I might be swayed. Although we're yet to see what they've got to offer I would be naturally inclined to favour microsoft...

    Pretty much.

On a different note, Dragon's Crown is the most expensive Japanese vanilla Vita game that I think I've seen.

If I'm anything like a typical vita owner, then Sony are making a mint from Plus. I've had 3 games from it in total since Christmas, keep forgetting about it to be honest. I don't really care though, 4 quid a month for it is nothing just to have it there and access online saving.

exactly. I just accept that now and again it will offer me the chance to play something I would never have bought (like VLR for instance). It's absolutely pointless being purchase paralysed for fear something might come to plus. It might not too.

Hmm.. Thomas Was Alone; anyone played it? Might make a note of its Plus release on the 24th, but Danny Fucking Wallace bothers me enough to make me worry about launching the Vita through the window.

I just buy the games I want to play and if they appear on plus I usually sell them. I have already earnt a trade in value of over 40 for Plus games I already had since the start of the year when I joined PS+. (And that is not including Lumines and LBP2). So in my eyes PS+ has paid for itself.

I also think Sony are been extra generous with PS+ at the moment to sway people into buying a PS4. (It has pretty much worked on me and I was predominantly a 360 gamer this gen. Although I am almost solely a Vita gamer at the moment).

    Morning chaps.

Could anyone share the prevailing wisdom on when and how much to charge my vita to get best battery life?

I think you're aren't supposed to let batteries go flat anymore are you? I've been waiting until it's warning me and then giving it a more-or-less full charge, that what most people do?

    http://m.techrepublic.com/blog/five-apps/five-tips-for-extending-lithium-ion-battery-life/289

    Here's a handy guide.

Also, remember that the circuitry in modern devices will turn the device off before it's completely discharged, so the battery will never run so flat as to damage it in normal use. That could happen if you leave the device off and unplugged for a significant time so it self discharges completely.

By coincidence, that's how I use mine. Fully charge, play it for a couple of days, battery goes down to about 20-30% and I recharge back to full. Must have charged it 150 times - no issues and the battery life feels about the same as ever...

@brn The Binding of Isaac and Cave Story.

Most, if not all of those games got 8 or 9 scores on this site.

Just got back from a week away, seems like the Vita has gained some real momentum with the amount of stuff announced recently..

Considering people were moaning that there was nothing announced for release this year, think Sony have done really well and we still have E3 to come.

Loving the amount of indie stuff that is coming as that seems to be the best fit for portable gaming.

Getting a similar feeling - so much more positivity and momentum!

And despite my best efforts, I'm starting to build up a backlog too - ok so it's only 5 games, 2 of which are PS+ freebies (Virtual Tennis 4, Resistance: Burning Skies, Sly 4, JSR and Puddle), but I'm also conscious of Soul Sacrifice coming in just over a month, with Guacamelee and Thomas Was Alone coming in the interim...

What's worse is that after having to delete tonnes of stuff to squeeze the 3GB monster of Sly 4 onto my memory card, I'm officially in the market for a 32GB Card! /o\

Edit: not to mention that I haven't bought P4G yet. Nor Dokuro.

In the sale, you guys recommend Persona 2 / TiTS double pack for 18 or Persona 3 Portable and TiTS seperately for 21?

Never played a Persona before so looking for a good place to start and TiTS is a cert.

Shame most of those are multiformat, and some are already out on another platform.

I want new experiences, not ones I can already get on Steam etc.

Then the vita is not for you ffs. I have most out those games already but will buy them all again on the vita just because PC gaming is for paedos and I just don't enjoy playing the 360 anymore.

Well, I hated P2. Found it very old fashioned, with huge numbers of unavoidable random battles - every step felt like a massive, dull grind.

Loved TitS and I understand that P3 is much more 'modern'...

Complaining about a lack of exclusives on the vita is a bit odd considering how the best console of this gen, the 360, had fuck all.

Persona 3 is wonderful, the best jrpg I've played. I've only just started TiTS, but it feels a lot like Grandia so far.

On the other hand, the characters and story in P2 are probably my favourite in the series. :) Rumours! The battle system feels horribly outdated though.

How can you "not enjoy playing the 360 anymore"? You mean you don't like sitting on your sofa with a controller in hand? What about your PS3?
