I cancelled my NG2 preorder (since its a lot worse than the 360 version which I have but haven't played yet) and bought PlayStation credit and picked up MLB. It downloaded over night so haven't tried it yet. I have never played a baseball game before apart from some mobile ones

Seems unlikely that they're going for the Vita version, too, judging by their promotion, but Sega are asking if fans want Project Diva F (ie. the PS3 version) localised in America and Europe.

    Aye, it works.

It's going to have to wait, though.

    Probably for years.

Tried to play Gravity Rush for the first time on the tube this morning, and it kept throwing up a network error and wouldn't start. Why does it need to connect to the internet, is that because it's a PS+ freebie and needs to authenticate when it first loads? Wasn't an issue when I first started Lumines with no net connection, iirc.

Also, finally got round to playing Wipeout, and really disappointed by it. It looks slick and fantastic but the tracks are way too busy for such a fast game, and the controls seem a little off. Shame.

@Kay yeah, I actually prefer going back to Pure/Pulse and although a bit blocky on the Vita they're so much slicker. 2048 becomes nigh on unplayable at high speed but I still love Zone mode.

I meanwhile, am supplementing my Persona 4 and occasional Tactics Ogre play with some Symphony of the Night. WHICH IS REALLY F***ING GOOD. Who knew? Certainly not me back in the late nineties when I frequently skipped the opportunity to pick it up.

@Kay - I don't recall GR having that issue. Maybe it's a log on once, and then never more, or switch off the wifi in the settings to see if that's it. I recall I had a similar problem with LBP.

WipEout 2048 is a fantastic game IMO - the tracks aren't perfect, but he overall game is extremely well balanced. If you're finding he tracks a bit disappointing - get the HD+Fury DLC - you get all the tracks from the PS3 game :)

I've had Symphony of the Night on my list of games to get for years. It's pretty clear now that they'll never release a new Castlevania game that good so I really should just get it.

Am I right in thinking that the PSP Castlevania, which contained SotN was never released as a download?

@Kay Hi. I've had this issue on an airport. You have to fire it up connected to the net when it's the first time you play. After that you'll be fine. But beware, there is a period of time it has to see you connected again or it will go back to not working. Like expiring DRM on spotify and similar.

@Kay has your PS+ recently rolled over?

Cheers Murbal and jonsaan - actually yes, I think it might have rolled over recently. I originally had a 3-month sub bought in early December, before stacking a 1-year sub on top of that. Not sure why it would make a difference, technically it's all part of the same sub, but that could be the reason.

Anyway, no biggie - just felt like starting Gravity Rush, just means I won't be able to do so until I get access to the home wi-fi tonight.

The reason is that it stores the expiry date on a game when you install it and updates it when you run it.

So the date it has stored with GR is the one from your 3-month sub, probably, and since you never ran it after you downloaded it, it remains so until you run the game and it can update the date.

Why it's on a per-game and not a per-system basis I don't know, I can only guess they're trying to prevent getting the whole system blown wide open in case a hack or glitch is discovered.

Just caved and bought a 32 gigger. May as well, started to juggle games with my 16.

And resi 2 is bloody hard isn't it? Quite unforgiving. After coming from the first one you can tell there's at least double the amount of zombies about

I always thought it was easier than the first game. Haven't played it in over 10 years though.

It is easier if you'd learned your lesson during the first one. The lesson being "run".
