I've been playing tons of Mutant Blobs Attack just recently and I really think its one of the best handheld game I've played. You recognise brilliant game design when it takes a couple of attempts to overcome an obstacle and you have a eureka moments which puts a massive smile on your face.

    Loving my vita. :-D

Yes, it's all very positive here, isn't it? Some silly threads where some silly people who don't even own Vitas post excepted.

The truth is, Sony has come up with an excellent little machine. Not without its faults, to be sure, but one that more than makes up for it with the sticks and the screen and the games.

A real hardcore gamer's portable. And doing about as well as you'd think a device for hardcore gamers would do these days. :-)

    Edit: drunken phone spelling :-(

I've only just started using my Vita again after a couple of months away. It's only because I've been reading the A Song of Ice and Fire books, though - they've taken up all the time that previously went on my handhelds! I've not really touched my 3DS either, apart from a quick bash on Theatrhythm now and then.

I chucked a pre-order on P4G recently though, which means I really need to go back and finish off my latest FFVII playthrough. I may have overdone it with the levelling this time; I'm still on disc 1, Cloud is level 48 and has all but Omnislash, and Aeris has Great Gospel.

FFXIV: ARR - Khroma Midgard, Odin.

    Anyway!

Here's a nice little write up by Siliconera on what to expect from Corpse Party: Book of Shadows (the Darkness meter, navigation, game structure, etc.). Don't read it if you haven't finished the first game as you will (unsurprisingly!) spoil bits of it for yourself.

One interesting feature is that you can unlock an extra where you can use clips of the bilinear sound to make your own creepy tracks.

Is project diva the only worthwhile import friendly game. From reviews I gather you dont need to know Japanese to navigate the menus or play the game. I guess DJ Max would be another. Is there anything else thats import friendly?

Any physical release from America (including DJ Max) is import friendly. As for Japanese releases... it depends on whether you know a little or no Japanese and how much you are in it for the gameplay or the story, if applicable.

Agreed on the good vibe of the Vita forums. These EG forums have generally become cold and cynical lately, the vita area is a nice safe haven!

A year on with the Vita and I'm playing it more than ever. And I've enjoyed chatting about it with you lot too!

    Take that naysayers.

Agreed, but there's only about fifteen of us at most, it's not like it's proof that the vita is thriving :)

True. We've very happy with our Vitas, though. :-)

Edit: I think I need a lie down from all the positivity here. Now all we need is someone to post circle wanking gay porn. ;-)

I think its better when it's a smaller group of regular posters though. It makes a refreshing change then having to try and keep on top of threads like some mammoth ones on neogaf!!

Its always positive in this thread, probably one of the happiest places on the forum!

Basically it works like this : People who own a Vita love it. People who dont own a Vita make fun of the poor sales.

Its a cracking portable console with some truly excellent games and some great features. The only problem with the Vita (and its a fairly major one) is that Sony seem to have completely lost interest in it, no doubt due to the PS4.

I couldnt even attempt to tell you what the next big Vita release is.....

    "Look at banner Michael!"

Sorry I should rephrase that. Any other worthwhile games that I should look into importing from the US? I originally stated Japan as we obviously miss out on quite a few great games from there. Ive always been under the assumption that pretty much all US releases also come to the EU anyway.

My missus asked me out of the blue "what's gravity rush?". I said how do you know about gravity rush? She said that Jonathan Ross had posted on Twitter about how good it was.

Never know, it might hit sales...... Slightly.

And yes, I agree, this thread is usually always full of positivity and helpful info.

Yeah, thats not really how it works. It goes something like: Someone says something negative about the vita, the same half a dozen people shout 'ive bought every game available and have played on it for 5000 hours' until the negative nancy resolve is worn down and goes away.

Basically, only the massively hardcore fanboys can be bothered posting in the vita section anymore, which is fine. Enjoy it.

I have a vita and I dont love it and have quite a critical viewpoint of it but when you say 'its battery life is too short' only to have 'WELL ITS FINE FOR ME! I NEVER LEAVE THE HOUSE WITH IT' screamed at you ad nauseum, it kind of tests your patience.

So, yeah, dont go slapping each other on the backs just because you have chased away any opposing viewpoints.

You can't deny though nick that there's a handful of people out there who enjoy a bit of Vita bashing.

Yes there's an element of people defending their investment but when there's countless 'Vita is Dead' threads and 'VitaLOL' posts it can get a bit tiresome.

If/when it all goes down the pan, it'll be something of a tragedy. IMHO of course.

I think the main sony trolling goes on in other threads. I think in the vita threads there are owners who are genuinely disappointed with high game prices, barren release schedules and so on and so forth.

Also, Eurogamer itself has always been prone to a bit of PSP/Vita bashing whilst fawning all over Nintendo handhelds.

Headlines like 'PSP has a new game!' when it's clear to anyone with the slightest bit of insight that Sony's system saw a darn sight more support software wise than Nintendo's at the time. Excluding shovelware naturally.

    Oh. IMHO ;-)
