Registered 2 years ago@Kangoo That's a couple of decent improvements right there. Got Ridge Racer Type 4 but the screen size was a little off putting, so never dabbled in any other PS One games. -

Is this the end for the Vita?
Do other Vita owners feel like this? -

Registered 8 years agoI really don't understand the high price argument, same price as the 3DS XL. It ain't cheap, but I'm pretty sure I paid more for my PSP. Been looking at the prices of Ipads, they cost a lot.
Good article, but I can't see how Persona 4 would help the Vita chances in any way. It is a little hard core, and anyone who really wanted would already have it. They need something like a GTA vita game, it was Liberty City stories that originally sold me on the PSP. Playing NFS, could you imagine a GTA looking like that on a handheld? Or even a Sleeping Dogs, Saints Row type game. Instead they are doing some great stuff like Sound Shapes, Gravity Rush, and other things that won't sell a system.

Registered 7 years agoI thought that was a good read. But it's very easy to consign a console to doom early in its life cycle. It happens with every machine. Let's face it, it's 50 50 that these predictions will come true. With any console. All it takes is one playground craze and the whole thing can flip on its head. Having Kids of my own, I can tell you that the Vita is a desirable item to kids. This assures its future in my eyes. And I've got a 50 50 chance of saying I told you so too!FCUTA!

Registered 8 years agoIt's funny Jon, but while the Kinnect is always slated any friends with kids always tell me how much their kids love it. There is a generation growing up who will be as used to that as a control method as we are to controllers, or mouse/keyboard. Anyone who has tried my Vita loves it. -

Registered 8 years agoAgree with JayG re price, I paid about the same for my Vita at launch than I did for a 3DS at launch, and I know which of the two felt like a ripoff.
I think it's still much too early to be writing it off. Got to give it till after Christmas at least. 3DS looked dead and buried this time last year, and look how that's turned around.Inventor of the hovercraft

Same here. The difference is that the price I paid for my PSV felt like it paid for extra horsepower and cutting edge tech. The money I paid for the 3DS felt like £100 of it was pure nintendo profit.

Registered 8 years agoI'm just stunned people aren't writing articles like that on the 3DS. That's seen far fewer key releases since launch than the Vita. IMHO and all that. -

Registered 9 years agoThe Vita will fail, I'm pretty sure of it. It's making the exact same mistakes that the PSP did. As someone pointed out, the 3DS will most likely be better supported in the long run.
No matter though, it's a great device, and there's plenty to keep me busy on it for now. -

Registered 9 years agoYes, it was a failure in that it didn't usurp Nintendo in the way that almost everyone expected it to at the time of its release. I think only MH redeemed it somewhat, sales-wise, in Japan at least. -

Registered 9 years agoNah, I'm just saying that people who think the Vita's fortunes will turn around are being a tad optimistic. Enjoy the console for what it is, just don't expect it to become a mass-market success. -

Registered 8 years agoI don't care if it becomes a mass market success (just as well, as it won't). All I want is for it to sell enough to keep a trickle of new games coming for another 2 or 3 years. That'd do me nicely.Inventor of the hovercraft

Registered 7 years ago^ Kind of agree here. Never usually buy more than one game a month anyway. Good quality titles every month that's what I want.
Must say though for Sony to add this to plus they must have some way of fulfilling that content. If it's a five year plan and all! -

Registered 8 years agoAny good deals around at the moment? I'm resisting the temptation (£50 cheaper and I would be all over it) but I'm weak so will probably give in soon.
Best I can see seems to be at Argos, £190 for Wifi, 4GB and LBP. -

To be honest I'd ignore any offer that has a 4 gig card as a "bonus." They are useless and you will want 8 gig as a minimum, especially with PSPlus.

If you do look at offers like that, then add in the price of an 8 gig card (£21.99 on amazon) onto the sales price. -

Registered 8 years agoTo be honest with psplus coming to the vita I would say anything less than a 16GB is going to be pretty useless, because the actually amount of games on vita is still relatively low most will end up on it pretty quickly so It's going to work out cheaper very quickly buying the biggest card you can and just paying for the PS plus subscription."If we hit that bullseye the rest of the dominoes will fall like a a house of cards, checkmate." Registered 9 years ago30 days free PS+ if you like the Playstation Access Facebook page and fill in a few details (although apparently you need to make sure you cancel before the trial is up, otherwise your account will automatically be charged for a 90-day sub). Might come in handy for tomorrow.
