I've just gone to play Velocity and got the message that the content has expired. I checked and this happens on all my ps+ minis, but I still subscribe. Surely I don't have to redownload the content every month? Anyone else had this problem and know how to sort it?

    Cheers.
Yeah I have got this aswell. I double checked and I can still play Velocity on ps3. Looks much prettier on Vita so I hope it sorts it's self out soon.
Me too. I'm sure I had this problem on the PSP, and I think the only thing I could do in the end to get the games working was to download them again. Bit of a ballache of a process to go through though.

    You may be right.

I'm on the new firmware. Will try the demo myself and report back.
I got an error message as well... :(

@dominalien I tried both. No luck. Maybe it has something to do with the 1.69 firmware update, which I installed yesterday? Have you installed that?
    Nope, still on 1.67.

It worked for me yesterday. Have you tried turning the Vita off and on again? If that fails, re-download it.

I managed to miss this before but IGN now have their MGS Collection Vita review up and the two game collection fares better than in the EGM review: 9/10 rather than 7/10.

They say that the throat-slitting rear touch panel controls can be 'hit or miss' but they really like the touch screen item select, unlike EGM.

Is Escape Plan worth getting at the sale price? I bought Stardust, Mutant Blobs Attack and Motorstorm in the sale and downloaded the demo for escape plan but I'm not really feeling it.
Does it get better than the demo?

I'm enjoying it. It's quite good fun. but if you didn't like the demo, you probably wouldn't like the rest.

If the demo is a handful of levels and you don't like it, then the full game'll do nothing for you

If you've finished the demo twice and you're not feeling it then no, it's not worth it.

I thought I'd better double check before writing it off, sometimes the demos aren't anywhere near as good as they should be.
Cheers, that's some money saved to use for next weeks reductions I suppose.

Much to my excitement, my wife surprised me with a Vita last night - time to put my launch model PSP to bed after many years of constant use.

Just wondering how many of you bother with a screen protector for your Vita? I never used one on my PSP but thought maybe, since this is a touch screen, it might pay to use one. Thoughts?

I tried one for a while but it drove me up the wall seeing specs of dust under it and I took it off after a while

@Roddy100 I didn't bother in the end, they're a bugger to fit and I've not got the patience to do it on such a big screen.

    Enjoy it!

Don't use one. When I'm not playing it's in its case. Did consider a strap though.

Grease is the main problem, invest in a good microfibre cloth instead.

Thanks all - might just invest in a good case instead and go sans-protector. :)

I have never used a screen protector in the past with anything, but I thought I might as well give the one I got with an accessories pack a whirl and it has been absolutely fine for me. You just have to be a non-spaz when applying it.

Yeah I got the official starter pack thing which included a screen protector. You definitely do have to try to be careful when applying it but if you do it right you honestly can't tell that you've got one on.

Another MGS post. ;) Just for anyone curious, the US download version is 3.29GB. Pretty sizeable! Think that and the 23 price in online shops makes it better as a physical purchase.

I don't use a screen protector either but if you can get it on good then you'll never know it's on there. You really have to take your time to get it on there well. I used to put them on my phones and liked them

The Hori Wow screen protectors are the best. I have one on mine and don't notice it's on there.

Does anyone else ever have trouble with updating their Vita?

I've literally bought one today and haven't enjoyed a moment with it. After a 30 minute download for 1.66 it gives me an nw-2408-4 error code which doesn't exist on Sony's website.

After that I simply have to restart the process. I don't think I've had such a frustrating time with a piece of hardware in years, especially something that costs so much.

My first impressions are disappointing to say the least.

Shouldn't it be trying to dl the 1.69?

Can you try to update using a PS3 or a PC/Mac?

Thanks for the help dominalien, it seemed to work that time. You're right it is 1.69 and its got through to the installation.

Strangely it only just recognised it was connected to a USB port so presumably something had confused it.

All is well now and I can stop making it out to be a fiend trying to ruin my weekend.

So is Playstation Plus any good for Vita owners? Is there any point?

    Glad it's OK now. :-)

FWIW, my PSV days have been virtually trouble-free. I had a couple of crashes at the start, but I put it down to the dodgy Unit 13 demo. Recently, it's been rock-solid.

Overall, it's a nice little machine. And it is not lacking in games, despite what some people would like you to think.
