    I dont where else to put this. Used search could find anything.

    Form the below article we can say that the PSP2 will have the following feature/ non features

    Sliding Screen
    NO UMD drive
    Will allow shoulder button games when closed
    screen similar to PSP 3000

    Now if they make it like this I know I would want one instantly. Whatever Sony it will be hard to make it look more impressive then this.

    PSP 2?

    No UMD is great in some ways, i.e Less loadings etc. But what about the back catalogue. Possibly downloadble through PSN. And so on.

    Isn't that picture just speculation on the PSP2 from around 2 years ago?

    I like it, but not sure how true it is. Also I don't see how the back catalogue would work without UMD. I wouldn't want to download a game from PSN for £14.99 knowing full well it is £4.99 preowned in Gamestation on UMD.

    Also UMD movies would be obsolete - although that is likely to happen eventually anyway.

    That device is not PSP2, but PSP-4000, a rumoured upgrade to the existing PSP. Thread fails.

    No, the hardware is the same, it'd just be a PSP without a UMD drive.

    No it isn't, you can download PSP games from the PSN already.

    Not in Europe or America it aint. Its getting crushed by the DS. Japan on the hand for considering the market size its doing really well.

    I agree with this idea. Download should mean passing the savings onto the consumer.

    If they did release this without a UMD drive and it's not a PSP2 can anyone explain how you'll be able to play UMD games on it?

    Probably with an attachment/external drive or something.

    That would be stupidly cheap though. It'd be pitched against the iPhone, which is hundreds of pounds.

    And PSP is selling quite well, the problem is that people aren't buying it as a games machine.

    Ideally they'd re-release all the UMD games onto the store, or give you some way to rip them onto a memory stick.

    Personally I want Sony to dump the PSP and just get SonyEricsson to make Playstation Phones with big HDDs, going that route would make alot more sense.

    I've had a PSP and traded it in for a Touch - no contest - Touch wins hands down. PSP only comes out on top for games at the moment.

    PSP - $160
    iPod Touch - $230

    PSP also has a bigger screen and is better for watching video on. Also, iPod Touch is pretty new, so it's only just started infringing on the PSP market.

    That's not to say I think the PSP is better. I'd definitely take iPod Touch over it any day, but the PSP has a lot to offer as well, and I can see why some people would choose it.

    Thats unrealistic. I think the handheld will be around 100 pounds if not more and games will cost up too 19.99, even if its downloadable only.
