Registered 9 years agoJust watched the official trailer on iTunes. Bad Kate in kick-ass mode? I'm just going to see it for that reason alone
But in all honesty and I know it's a case of "what did you expect?" but it does look a bit too much like the original with a bit of Resident Evil type actions sequences in there.

I assume the trailer starting with bits that looked like they're lifted from the Arnie movie was deliberate?
Not sure about this at all, the original Total Recall was a movie I made the trek up to the Odeon Leicester Square to queue for the first showing, can't see myself doing the same again.

Registered 8 years ago@CharlieStCloud From what i've read, they've ditched Mars. It's apparently somewhere inbetween a remake of the Arnie film & a retelling of the original Philip K. Dick short story it was based on.
Interested to see how it turns out, there's some decent talent involved. -

Interesting that they've gone for more of a retell of the book, but from the trailer it looks a bit mechanical and soulless, like Die Hard 4.0 which was solid enough, but mechanical and soulless. -

I know it's designed to appeal to skeptics who love the first film but seriously.... we now know his wife is the new richter (good idea, btw) and the pivotal 'it's all in your head scene' is there intact.
On the one hand, it does look decent, better than I thought but on the other hand, I've basically seen the entire fucking movie.---------------------------------------------------------

Registered 6 years agoTrailer does look great. Arnie's one is so imprinted on my mind though I really don't know how I will take to this version. I know it taken more inspiration from the book but there is clearly lots of nods to the Arnie film. -

more than the film, that's why it's not set on Mars? Is that not the case then? -
