Last Tuesday, Mark told everyone in the office that it was pancake day. So, being a generally trusting chap, I got the ingredients on the way home from work, invited some mates round, and made pancakes for them all.
Full of chocolate and banana pancakes, we all mused about how weird it was that it hadn't been mentioned on the radio, in the papers, or on the TV that day. Cue us checking the date of Shrove Tuesday, and duly facepalming.
I suppose that's what you get for not being religious. -

Registered 4 years agoI ran out of pancakes today Looks like a sad pancake day for me tomorrow. -
Use my recipe for proper American pancakes, works everytime for me...
-2 cups flour
-2 cups milk
-2 eggs
-1/3 cup melted butter
-1 Tbs sugar
-2 Teaspoons baking powder
-1/2 teaspoon salt
Beat the eggs in a bowl, blend dry ingredients, add melted butter,milk and eggs.
Should make 6-8 pancakes depending on size. Mixture should be fairly thick but still be able to pour. Use no oil or butter in the frying pan! Have your pan heated to a medium heat, pour mixture in and when you have a good number of bubbled holes on the top, flip.
Serve with proper butter and a good Canadian maple syrup...Optional sausages and bacon
