Have to admit, struggling to see the betrayal. It's not as if Heat are they're greatest ever historic rivals are they, like Campbell from Spurs to Arsenal. At least I don't think they are

They're not. As I mentioned earlier, the heat roster is empty right now. They have no parts around them really. If they could keep Haslem as back up at PF/C (in a small lineup) it would be good. They need a center though to protect Bosh and let him do what he does.

Anyone know whats up with Shaq? I thought his contract at Cleveland was up, wonder if he'd join the dream team. I know he's a shadow of his former self but all he'd really need to do is defend and rebound.

so gutted, was really hoping he was going to sign with Chicago...he would of fit in really well with that team, especially since Bosh was rumoured to go there if LeBron signed too
    oh well

He'd always be in Michael's shadow there though.

Really if he wants to be seen as one of the all time greats (Michael, Larry, Magic) he should have stayed in Cleveland and built his own dynasty (or tried at least).

He can't even be in the same category as Michael now that he has Wade... and Bosh to a lesser extent.

I dunno about that, Jordan always had excellent support when Chicago were destroying everyone too.

I know, but they would kick so much arse! Might just have to pretend via 2K

But what you said is very true, basically the same as Charles Barkley said here (part way down, first video).

I spose the party lifestyle of Miami would of also had it's huge +'s!

Only read the other day Shaq commenting on how he still doesn't know how they won the championship when he was there as they were out partying every night all year through!

Not to the extent of this. Pippen was always good, all star material but not MVP. In the last few seasons both Bosh and Wade had at least been in MVP discussions and perennial all stars.

Jordan lifted the players around him, he had lots of good not great players as support. Lebron is going into a team with 2 other superstars not just stars.

    @danathjo
I love Charles Barkley, not watched what he has to say this off season, but during the season he's amazing. 2That game was just TURRUBLE!!" "This team is awful, the worst I've seen" "I love , he's my main man.". Constant amusement.

He a free agent and there is some interest in him round the league. Not sure he'd want to play for the Heat though because he fell out with Riley when he left last time. That said I'm not sure Shaq could resist the chance to get another ring after what Kobe said recently :).

Is anyone watching the playoffs? They've been pretty exciting so far!

    I am!

Been trying to watch as much as I can throughout the season but it's hard with the time difference and the fact that they play so fucking often!

Lakers need a win tonight in New Orleans, they don't want to go 2 down. I guess you could say the same about the Spurs v Grizzlies. I want the Grizzlies to do well though, as I saw them play live many years ago when they were based in Vancouver :D

The Knicks-Celtics game last night was good, Melo was on fire. With a fit Amare, they could have won

All of the matches in the playoffs are quite good.

Managed to watch the first bulls game, but that's it so far sadly ! I am off for the 3 days in-between the upcoming bank holidays so I am hoping to soak it all up then.

What team do you support ?

    I knew there'd be someone! :p

The Lakers will be fine. Just watch what they do to Paul tonight. I'm predicting an average game from him. If he proves me wrong, then he's better than I thought.

The Spurs will probably be fine in the long run as well, but they need Ginobli back pretty bad.

I'm a Celtics fan. These two games made my chew off all my finger nails! They let Melo go off until they needed to stop him, though. They would have doubled him earlier if the Knicks started to pull away. They're a smart team. I'll admit that I'm nervous, though.

HUGE Knicks fan myself; have been since the late '90.

Painful viewing the first two games... should have had them both. Celtics can quite easily win on the road.

The Knicks have a way of blowing it at the end and the Celtics have always been the opposite. The combination of both make any close game almost too predictable.

Plus, the Celtics are lucky to have so many guys they can go to in the clutch. With the Knicks, you knew who was getting the ball at the end of game 2. They covered him and the rest fell into place how they probably figured it would.

I've never noticed until recently, but it really is a chess match. Doc is excellent at it. If Melo plays like that with Stoudamire, though, it could be the Knicks in a blowout!

The playoff are one big chess match - it's all about adjustments from game to game. Some coaches get it, others just rely on their players to adjust mid-game.

The major problem the Knicks have is that if they don't shoot well, they loose. The system they use is all based on player and ball movement, with the aim of getting the best shot. If they don't shoot well in one of the home games then it curtains.

Melo doesn't seem to care whether he has a good shot or not. Last night, it didn't matter. He was shooting around, over, under and through everybody. I was like, "NOOOOOO!!!" every time he took a shot.

But, yeah, they're going to need a 3rd or 4th guy to step up their game - because the Celtics aren't going to let 1 or 2 guys beat them very often. It might happen once or twice, but not 4 out of 7.

Is Billups back for Friday? Stoudamire says he is.

Yeah, Knicks have players that can close it out now. Good attacking team, not so great defending. They need a bit more time and a couple more players. Celtics have the experience and are solid defending and can score too.

Ray ray clutch 3 in the 1st game and 4/4 from range last night. 30 points from Rondo was a bit of a suprise, PP and KG are big players.

I saw a bit of Magic-Hawks last night as well, Howard putting up monster numbers again. Might try catch a bit of the Thunder-Nuggets later.

Amare will be back I'm sure, don't know about Billups. I'm not fussed either way tbh - his heart clearly isn't in NY and he shoots way too much for my liking.

Rondo's a tough one to figure out. One game he scores 30 and the next 8. Let's hope the 30 version shows up more often!

I'll tell you, out of all of the great play in the playoffs, none has impressed me like Rose. Holy crap that guy makes some amazing shots!

    @ Monkey

You're right about Billups - or maybe he's just showing his age? He seems to be a beaten man.

He just doesn't suit the system and probably doesn't really give a crap. He wanted to finish his career in Denver.

Completely agree about Rose - he's on a another level at the moment.

I can't stand Rose's face, though. He always looks like he's disgusted about something.

I used to think the same of Ray Allen, but now that he's a Celt, I'm ok with his constant disgust. :p

Oh yeah, the Lakers game is in LA tonight, not NO. Just starting now, Bryant guarding Paul...

Close game between Spurs Grizzlies going on too, 5 mins to go in the 4th. Thunder 2 up now on the Nuggets.

    Must sleep soon 0_o

Spurs have levelled it up so would expect them to go through in 6 games? Looks like the Thunder will be one of those teams that nobody wants to face in the playoffs, especially the way Durant and Westbrook are going.

Celtics fan here. 2 great, close games with the Knicks but the Celtics have at least 2 guys who can make the 'clutch' shot. A Celtics vs Heat in the next round would be huge.

I like it when he's angry.

Loads of Playoff action this weekend. Game 4, Bulls v Pacers is on just now.

Rondo! Triple double with 20 assists, crazy.

ESPN or the NBA league pass. You'll have to pay for both those options though.
