It's got me again Andy. Resident Evil 4.

    Double gah.

Everybody should just calm down a little bit and have a nice cup of tea.

Thinking I might try and find a way to work these words into the thread title. Surely one of the most commonly used phrases in the thread?

    /bought Rainbow Six Vegas
    /bought GRAW 2.

Can't guarantee I won't buy more 2.69 or 4.49 games, either. To add to the Star Wars Pinball tables.

    I may be beyond help.

Found my Blur box though, in the end! Won't have to spend money buying that again!

    Hurrah! Blur tonight then?

And surely the gods of this thread will let me off the purchase or grid? No money was exchanged, and I've already completed it...

Main reason for getting it was my lack of interest in any recent xbla games that have been in the sale. Had 500 points left over but nothing to tempt me. Wouldn't want to waste them now that the console generation is coming to an end...

That was my justification in buying Unity of Command last week. It was in the sale, it was on the top of my steam wishlist, and I've played it for nearly 20 hours already...

I was trying to get to my birthday without buying a new game (end of April), and very nearly succeeded. The main reason was to give my backlog a decent go, which to be fair I have done so I'm fairly happy...

Does it count if you buy 4 games you already own? I couldn't resist the AC anthology for 46.

I really hope I can resist buying anything new in the near future. I have over 60 games in my backlog now and I've only managed to complete maybe 5 games this year. I bought closer to 10, though. :-(

Last game bought was Far Cry 3, late last year. so all good here. I have "bought" a copy of Resistance 3, however in mitigation I used the super points thing Play.com give you, so in fact it cost 750 super points and no actual money :)

    ...So four months in:

    I have bought:
    Gears (as above)
    Resistance 3 (play.com points)
    Risen 2 (Play Gift Voucher)
Batman AC/Grid: Live points I had already, games in the GOD megasale.
    Homefront GOTY: 4
    ACIII: (via EG swaps) 15
    Darkness II ltd edition: 10

Total actual money out of my account this year on games 29

I have sold 90+ of the backlog as well :)
I have rented such games as, Bioshock,Walking Dead (I know!)DMC, and have 99% of the new big hitters on my Lovefilm list, once they are released.

    I intend buying:
    GTA
    Last of us
DD Dark Arisen (thank you for reminding me vortex)under 14 though!

I am as bad (if not worse as I don't rent any).

Recently bought Crysis 3, Gears Judgment, Bioshock Infinite, and Defiance. I have only played Crysis 3 & Gears so far.

Dragons Dogma: Dark arisen, GTA V and Metro Last light will all be coming soonish.

Never mind the on-going/unstarted pile of about 6-7 games on the 360 and all those XBLA/GoD sale bargains I didn't really need sitting on the HDD.

I could stop buying any more games this gen and still be set for gaming entertainment for a really long time....

Told myself I wouldn't buy any games this year. I'm failing miserably...
Bought Crysis 3, Bioshock Infinite, LBP Vita, Persona 4 Golden, Disgaea 3, Dark Souls, Tomb Raider, Heart of the Swarm, DMC, Mass Effect trilogy, NFS: Most Wanted.

And it's only just April :(

I'm still clean for 2013 AND knocked 7 or so games from the backlog \0/

It's the continuous games (Football Manager, Path of Exile etc) that do my backlog in.

Buying stuff - I'm doing OK as the only PS3 games I've bought this year are The Walking Dead and Borderlands 2 Season Pass (both at a discount).

My weakness is Vita Games, where I've bought Retro City Rampage (finished), F1 2011 (finished), Virtua Tennis 4 (not played), Resistance: Burning Skies (Not Played), Sly 4 (playing ATM).

Unfortunately, because I've been so wrapped up in Borderlands 2 for the last 6 months, I've barely played anything else on the PS3, so the backlog continues to grow...

I buy games still but only on great sales. That way it's relatively unexpensive and I can think of it as having tremendous great choice in what I wanna play next because I don't think I'll ever get through them all. There are very few games that I would pay more than 25 for and even that price is kinda high. I count on my one hand the number of games I have bought on release and the only titles that this will be considered for going ahead is

    Killzone 4
    The Last Guardian
    Warhammer 40 000: Dawn of War 3

All else auto-enter hold for significant pricedrops.

    Bump

So I just ran the SteamCalculator site and found that I have 89 games on steam...

and I've only played 4 of them...

All up they have cost me less than 150 quid.

But I haven't touched most of them. In fairness I've been waiting for my new pc upgrade to really get into 'em.

    /self-deception

.... and I just picked up the latest humble bundle as well.

Everybody should just calm down a little bit and have a nice cup of tea.

Not bad money at least :-) lot of unplayed games though.

Im still a mega fuckwit re buying, selling or trading and then buying again!

I have re-bought Forza H on 3 separate occasions, likewise Diablo III, Dishonored, at least that is the GOTY version, Borderlands 2 and Batman AC, Saints Row IV
    have all been purchased twice.

The last month I have bought Rocksmith 2014, not tried, ACIV ltd edition,Splinter Cell BL not played, actually that might be it, not too shabby ;-)

Oh well at least im not getting a 720 until next year

I've nailed it on home consoles; only bought about 3 boxed games all year (thanks to colleagues and PS+ mainly!).

Handhelds, however, I can't help myself. Seeing as they're 99% of my game time these days it's understandable but I do need to start finishing some ;-)

I've been doing OK for the past few months, having limited my purchases to Vita games (Killzone: Mercenary, Spelunkey etc). Indeed, I purchased nothing in October at all, and only bought something this morning (EDF Vita).

A combination of being Vita focussed, having PS+ and a decent PS3 back-log, means that there's little PS3 stuff to buy at the moment. The Last of Us is probably the only essential PS3 game I don't currently have :)

That said, looking back at my first post in this thread - there are a few games in there which currently still sit, unplayed, in my collection (MGS4, Heavenly Sword, any Wii game)....

I'd like to think he finally realised his dream of sailing the seven seas as a agparrot!

    I have recently purchased:

    Papa & Yo
    Proteus (a cross-play game, hooray!)
    LEGO Marvel Super Heroes
Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus

No more games for me this year other than kindly asking Father Christmas for Puppeteer, which seems like the perfect game to play on Christmas Day.
