I feel the same. He's an immensely talented driver. Perhaps not quite so strong over a 'hot lap' scenario, but certainly over a whole race.

His back has been clearly troubling him, which is why his qualifying results have been so poor in comparative terms to his earlier-season form.

Webber reflecting on his time with Vettel:

‘Seb’s phenomenal, a very tough act, I think he will reach Michael Schumacher’s total of seven championships, no problem.’

‘Seb has won a lot of races when the car has been good, but he has also won a lot when the car hasn’t been good. Seb is like Alain Prost, but with a qualifying lap at his fingertips. Impressive. Also, he hardly ever makes a mistake. It’s not all the car.

‘It’s been fascinating for me to be in the boxing ring with him. I will look back at that and, realise you have understood a lot about yourself from what went on. It was a big juicy part of Formula One. Of course I would have loved to have had a seven-year offset in age with Seb, instead of the 11-year difference between us. It would probably have exploded properly, then.’

Marc Marquez became the youngest ever champion in the top class of MotoGP.
They don't have tactical radio nonsense and I've even seen them overtake each other too.
Spain plough money into this sport and Britain should too as they produce enough good talent with the distinct lack of money put into the sport.

Brill. He'll do good for them, and they'll do good for him.

Nice to see instead of another kid come in with money! Still only 32 so not too old in the grand scheme of things.

Looks like Magnussen is all but official at McLaren.

Quite gutted for Perez, to be honest. He looked pretty damn good at the beginning of last season, but from the moment he signed for Mclaren things started to go downhill. Hope Magnussen has the speed some say he has.

Someone will come in for Perez, a decent driver who also comes with cash. I reckon a few teams will be reconsidering there 2014 line up.

So Perez to DTM then? Bit of a shame for him to get the push as he hasn't exactly done much wrong this season considering the car Mclaren have given him.

I dunno he's been consistently slower than a guy who is probably in his autumn f1 years, which isn't really what you expect for a mclaren driver. Crap that they never went for hulkenburg last season instead

It really makes you wonder if the FIA give any thought at all to anything when they design the rules doesn't it?
    What a bunch of clowns.

Baffling how they put safety ahead of good looks, isn't it?

It's not like safety and good looks are mutually exclusive though.

Looking at the hanging schlong nose makes me wonder if Sniff Petrol are in charge of the regs now...

Looks like Heikki Kovalainen is replacing Kimi at Lotus for the last remaining races.

Will be nice to have him back for a couple of races, hopefully he does well. Bit gutted for the reserve driver though.

Makes sense, but a kick in the teeth for all reserve drivers out there.

    Great from Sniff!

Not sure how I rate Perez but still very harsh of McLaren to dump him after only 1 season and to do it this late as well.

It's harsh but such is the world if F1. MacLaren assessed his performance via data analysis over the season and decided to terminate his contract. He was one of the lucky few to even be in that position anyway. In simple terms he was not as fast as Jenson, who isn't among the fastest anyway, but neither was his consistent. He might get a seat in Force India anyway
