Nor I. I should have twigged the 'one team is missing' line though.

'Red Bull Ring' sounds like something you'd get from drinking too many energy drinks. :|

    Valencia's long gone thankfully!
Hopefully at the expense of somewhere awful like Singa-bore.

It'll be at the expense of one of the Euro GPs. Maybe the Euro GP itself?

Unless it is the Euro GP as I don't think there is a Euro GP this year?

Valencia invests too much money to get binned, that's all it takes to get Bernies approval. Spa is the best course in F1 and I bet it'll get binned.

That is, unless Bernie gets shot down in the street.

I was hoping it'd be at the expense of Hungary but I've just looked and they have a contract until 2021.

The calendar is starting to get a little congested with 20+ races and as Bernie seems to love the Middle East, USA and 'emerging markets' so much it doesn't leave many tracks looking likely for cutting.

Both Malaysia and Spa only have contracts until 2015 but I'd wager one of those is going to go bye bye.

could it not be the alternative to the german gp? I know they have had financial issues.

Also meant to be a russian gp , alongside New jersey as well next year as well.

The Germany GP is the curve ball, both tracks are essentially broke but with the amount of German drivers (including the champ) and Mercedes pouring vats of cash into the sport again I'd imagine it'll stay by the skin of its teeth.

I would have thought all the "classic" races are safe. The only reason they are constantly seen as "at risk" is because they have bargaining power, so are constantly trying to bet the best deal. F1 needs places Spa, Silverstone, Montreal, Monza and Suzuka. Tracks with no history, and no fans, like Valencia or Turkey simply have to stump up the cash, or get kicked out. Hence why they've been dropped.

There's a few places I'd like to see dropped for next year, with Korea being top of the list.

never underestimate how much of a money grabbing cunt Mr. BE is, he will drop any race if he thinks he can gain money elsewhere

Absolutely. Spa is highly likely to go. Only thing that'll save it is some other Euro track going first. Maybe Valencia will lhave no more money to spend? The French GP is also due back next year, isn't it?

Bernie genuinely doesn't give a shit. Silverstone only survived because Donington couldn't put a race on as it had promised. No track is so great that Bernie wouldn't dump it, nor any particular country. It's all business.

Ha! I've got Spa planned too. It was supposed to be this year. Waiting for the early tickets straight after the race.

Would love to see a drivers strike if Spa is removed.

They won't have the balls to though :-(

my understanding was that spa and nurburgring were going to go on an alternating contract?

other than that valencia should go as the region is broke and the race is boring despite the track appearing to be fun to drive in games :)

No, you're thinking of Hockenheim and Nurburgring. Spa was to alternate with France but those plans were shelved.

Don't forget the only reason bernie brokers the races is because the teams didn't want to take the risk

I can't remember where I read it, but word on the street is that Austria comes at the expense of South Korea.

They never finished the resort they planned around the track, there was supposed to be a mini-city etc but then came the crash...

It's been like that all season, and I think part of the reason it hasn't really grabbed me yet this year

don't remind me 4 weeks isn't it? I dont understnad the scheduling at all, we have some races a week apart and then others 3,4. why not have a race every two weeks???

yeah ideally it'd be bi-weekly with the odd back to back until july or august - have a test, go on a summer break until september - return to bi-weekly.

the euro part of the season used to be great as it was a nice chunk of races in succesion, whereas the start and end are all a bit disjointed because of all the fly-away races, only made worse in recent times. the first 5 or so races all on in the early hours.
