What's the punishment for that again?

Edit: Not that it matters since it looks like a valid start.

@FWB I think it's a drive through, not that it matters today.

The Merc is poor. No point in being good one lappers.

It's awful to watch. Someone's going to get a firing, I reckon.

I think this race has been brilliant so far. The Mercedes's actually contribute to the spectacle from a spectator's point of view as it leads to very close racing at the front.

    Button is awesome.

As I said yesterday, it's ruining races to an extent. They just about cling on during the first stint, but anyone unlucky enough to be caught behind them after that loses a massive amount of time to the frontrunners and is effectively eliminated from having a chance to win. Its a new age Trulli Train. Wish they'd fuck off down the pack where they belong.

Kimi could still undercut him in the last pit stops, but Lotus need to react quickly.

There's no defending the pace of the Mercs there, but the overall situation with the tyres just keeps getting worse. It's painful to watch any of the drivers being told they've got to slow down and can't fight.

Vettel just had a predictable winge about the tyres on the red button.
Suck it up Vettel they're the same for everyone.

Oh yes. If only pesky Vettel would win a lot less.

Thought that was a good race to watch. Had a big lol @ Lewis - 'I've just been passed by a Williams..' :D So dry. Very tough interview with him afterwards. He was clearly biting his tongue. Painful for Button too. DC rubbed it in on the red button, pointing out the McLaren Team titles - last win: 1998.

Also thought this circuit showed DRS working at its best. No easy passing (at least until fuel had burned up). Slugs dropped down the field (was Lewis actually lapped??!) and yet plenty of brilliant, brilliant passing elsewhere. Especially from Alonso. What a brilliant driver.

PS. Anyone pick up the 'what's todays script?' question from DC to Bernie? I've said it before: F1 does seem scripted on occasion.

Yes - Horner wouldn't even talk about them. The Pirelli guy promised changes and said that Alonso had a puncture on his first stop. He said something I didn't know - that the tyres have a steel belt around them holding them together, so no dangerous sudden tyre destruction. He said that Alonso would not have won on last years tyres.

There was also a heated(ish) discussion about the failings of McLaren and Williams. DC said fix the tools, and if the tools are fine, fix the people. Eddie pinned the problem on McLaren ownership, with the tension between Ron Dennis and the Bahrainis. Both agreed that Martin Whitmarsh is doing a good job under the circumstances. :(

Nico at a loss as to the problem with the Mercedes. Much more relaxed than Lewis, but just as puzzled.

They're showing some extra FIA testing being done on Alonso's car. Dunno if it's random or something got missed or flagged from scrutineering.

Rumours of flexing, apparently. I doubt it'll amount to anything. Never does unless a British driver is involved.
