"A common misconception is that Coandă effect is demonstrated when a stream of tap water flows over the back of a spoon held lightly in the stream and the spoon is pulled into the stream. While the flow looks very similar to the air flow over the ping pong ball above (if one could see the air flow), the cause is not really the Coandă effect. Here, because it is a flow of water into air, there is little entrainment of the surrounding fluid (the air) into the jet (the stream of water). This particular demonstration is dominated by surface tension."

To be honest it conveyed the idea clearly I dont have a problem with it. -

Registered 8 years agoI quite liked the Ted thing, he made it clear it was mostly a way of demonstrating where they wanted the air to go rather than how it was actually done.
A lot of those DRS zones are directly after each other, surely that's going to end up neutralising the first overtake? -

Registered 4 years agoMcLaren moving onto Honda engines from 2015 apparently. Was always going to happen once Mercedes came in with their own outfit. Will still be odd, mind.

Some nice proper red and white Honda colours would be just the ticket. -

Honda cars almost always race in red and white and it's got nothing to do with Malboro.
See Honda's 1st F1 car below and lo and behold it's red and white.

Registered 8 years agoIf I remember right Mclaren went to great pains to come up with a livery they own and make sure sponsors (or 'partners' as they like to say) don't have any real influence over it.
Personally I'd like to see them run in their orange but I guess that would be to close to the Arrows livery for comfort. -
