It's almost like he sits there with his shitty little notebook and makes things up. I actually like watching him though, he's like a strange uncle

Lol that's an effective and amusing explanation of the coanda effect lol.

Anyone remember his impromptu sound effects during the 2005 European GP from the Nürburgring when Kimi had flat spotted his tyres?
"Neeyowmm badum badum badum badum" etc lol

thought i'd better check - from wiki:

"A common misconception is that Coandă effect is demonstrated when a stream of tap water flows over the back of a spoon held lightly in the stream and the spoon is pulled into the stream. While the flow looks very similar to the air flow over the ping pong ball above (if one could see the air flow), the cause is not really the Coandă effect. Here, because it is a flow of water into air, there is little entrainment of the surrounding fluid (the air) into the jet (the stream of water). This particular demonstration is dominated by surface tension."

i presume this is what he was doing. fucking idiot

    DRS zones for each track:

    http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/bilder/drs-zonen-2013-6741817.html

Most have two. I really hope we're not going to see easy passes with that shit all year.

@superdelphinus he did demonstrate that, however he did also say he knew it wasn't quite a true demonstration due to surface tension and so on.

To be honest it conveyed the idea clearly I dont have a problem with it.

I quite liked the Ted thing, he made it clear it was mostly a way of demonstrating where they wanted the air to go rather than how it was actually done.

A lot of those DRS zones are directly after each other, surely that's going to end up neutralising the first overtake?

That'd be it. Completely forgot about the single activation. Oops.

Makes the double dip even worse but there we go.

Will basically just be used to let the car behind get right up the arse of the car in front and then pass easily in the second zone.

McLaren moving onto Honda engines from 2015 apparently. Was always going to happen once Mercedes came in with their own outfit. Will still be odd, mind.

Edit: Just noticed this rumour is a couple of days old, probably already been done here. Christ knows how I missed that!

Hopefully. It's getting old now and the whole 'Silver look' was only ever for Mercedes surely.
Some nice proper red and white Honda colours would be just the ticket. :)

Not err at all and no it's not.
Honda cars almost always race in red and white and it's got nothing to do with Malboro. :)

See Honda's 1st F1 car below and lo and behold it's red and white. :)

It stems from the old 'national' colours that they had in the pre-war era.

If I remember right Mclaren went to great pains to come up with a livery they own and make sure sponsors (or 'partners' as they like to say) don't have any real influence over it.

Personally I'd like to see them run in their orange but I guess that would be to close to the Arrows livery for comfort.

Oh Sky you massive, massive cunts.

On April 9th the Sky F1 channel will become part of the Sky Sports package which costs £21 per month on top of a £21.50 per month Sky subscription (excluding offers), with a minimum 12-month contract.

Was always going to happen. Reel 'em in with a season of goodwill and then hide the channel behind some bollocks package.
