Nah, that's the pre-race build up. Actual race is around 6ish.

HAHAHA yeah I just tuned into it to see what was happening. Only America could fill 4 hours of build up...That's insane.

Will be watching it at 6 though, thanks for coughing.

Whatever you do, don't tune in before the start as the pre-race stuff is usually filled with what Jeff Gordon ate for breakfast followed by 3 hours of how Danica is going to win the race.

That Kwik fill advert was hideous

DRIVING AMERICA AT KWIK FILL: 100% AMERICAN MADE GAS, KEEPING AMERICA STRONG.

Never watched a Daytona 500, wonder how long I'll last.

Fucking hell that ROAR when they go flying by, that's immense!

Side by side? I can't believe that they are doing adverts within 10 minutes of the race start. Fucking America

and again within 5 minutes? All talking about how great NASCAR is, if it's so great why don't you let us watch it?

If you've not watched this before then it's kinda similar to a marathon with a lot of just keeping pace initially, building in intensity at certain points

Basically 150 laps of trying not to explode or get lapped followed by a 50 lap door banging sprint for the line.

@ResidentKnievel nobody would watch it, you would miss so much. I'm annoyed that I'm evening missing the pit lane stuff!

I think I'll come back to this for the last 20 laps, if only to see what natural disaster took Patrick out of the race

Doesn't help that American adverts are shit, totally devoid of any humour and are just blunt hammer blows to the head.

I was in the US for the Singapore GP last year, and managed to watch it on Speed. The quality of the coverage was upsetting. It was probably about 30% adverts.

Montoya is just plain shit, talking of Daytona.

Think I'll turn it on again in an hour when they're approaching the end, too much brand slamming for my Scottish brain

These adverts are unintentionally hilarious, especially this Androgel one with the disclaimer being longer than the actual advert.

Yep, American adverts are like that. It's a wonder any medical products actually sell.

I wish Red Bull had kept Scott Speed. That kid was always entertaining, shame he never really cracked a full time ride any where since.

@ResidentKnievel Yup that was my second favourite, Kwik Fill for America was the best.

I'll be honest, I was only watching because I was hoping Danica would get her tits out if she won. She didn't do either.
