Registered 6 years agoOn a brighter note.... I,ve just made my first ticket purchase of the year.
I have also spoken to our Stihl rep and he has promised me a couple of tickets for the BSB at Brands too, and now I know one of the guys that delivers to us daily works on/very near to the paddock entrance I shall be sweet talking him for a couple of free entries too. Last year he got me into touring cars and truck super prix,Whassamattayou, whyoulookasosad, itsanicaplace, itsanotsobad, heyshaddupayourface.

Registered 6 years agoJust need to remember which rep got me tickets for DTM a couple of years ago where I nearly got run over by David Coulthard on a scooter. I think it was Hitachi, so I will keep my eye out for him and do some creeping there too.
I have just been testing my new laptop with the race edit videos on the F1 site and I am really looking forward to the start of the season.Whassamattayou, whyoulookasosad, itsanicaplace, itsanotsobad, heyshaddupayourface.

Registered 6 years agoThey all look the same to me. The stuff that differentiates them is usually the stuff you cannot readily see anyway.
Having said that, fingers crossed for another red Ferrari this year! -

Registered 2 years agoHow do you guys approach supporting in this sport? I'm genuinely interested. Do you root for the British drivers (or whichever is relevant to you), do you go for manufacturer, engine? When your favourite driver swaps from your favourite team, do you still root for them? Or do you base it purely on driver/team nationality? I've been a fan of F1 since the early 90's, but I guess I always end up taking it on a race by race basis. "What would be the most exciting thing to happen next?" is usually what I end up rooting for. Would be interested to know how other fans approach it.Steam: Baleoce

Registered 7 years agoIt changes around. When i first started watching F1 it was all about damon hill, i sort of came into the sport on the back of mansell, getting his toy car, but hill was my first driver i followed. seeing him shunted off by schumi, and then the next year winning the title was great. But after that, i guess it was supporting williams as team. When i played F1 97 i mainly played as berger or alesi, i remember that a lot, if not, trying to get the jordans up the grid to win. Infact alesi i used to like a lot. I used to have the nigel mansell f1 game for the snes, and had a book where i wrote the results of every race down, and worked out if i won or not by the season end.
I don't think i supported a driver till lewis came on the scene. All i was interested in was could anyone beat that dick dasterdly german michael schumacher. But i guess i loosely followed british teams and drivers. Button annoyed me so never really followed him.
Now, i think i just follow lewis, and all for up the under dogs.

Registered 7 years agoNever really given it much thought but I guess I have a team I like (McLaren) a few driver I like (Button, Kimi, Webber) and then a team I don't like (Ferrari). I'm pretty indifferent about the rest of the field so anything they do to ruin a Ferrari day is good for me. -

Registered 10 years agoFor me it's a bit of both but i'm more of a MotoGP fan than F1. I support my favourite riders and Teams almost as separate entities.
So this year i'll be rooting for Cal Crutchlow and Tech3 mainly with a bit of Bautista thrown in. I'll also be interested in Gresini even though they've had a torrid time since we lost Simoncelli, RIP.
I've no real agenda though regarding countries etc I'll follow anyone who interests me and usually that's the rookies or underdogs. I'm not big on following the giants too much, i just assume they've already got the support and it's more exciting/nerve-wracking when your rider may drop the bike at any moment!
I was on a rollercoaster following Bautista, Crutchlow and Simoncelli a few years ago. Up and down, up and down. It was awesome! This signature intentionally left blank.

I'm more a Red Bull fan in general than their drivers. However, if I was to put together a list of drivers I'd like to see do well it would be...
Massa (He lost the plot, now I want to see him force Alonso to move over for him!)
Vettel (Have followed him since his debut, I don't want to see him turn into Schumacher though.)
Button (He's the understated gentleman of F1 right now.)
Raikonnen (Just because he's a bit mental.)
Drivers I used to like:
Coulthard (Probably because my mother loved him.)
Alonso (Went off him because of his tantrums but he's definitely improving.)
Webber (Sick of his whining about being a number 2 driver. Just get on with it.)
Kobibashi (Still think he's great, but obviously he's gone now.)This post is sponsored by Apple and the iPhone 4S. Think different.
