Weirdly low-key start - is the sound working properly?

This is such a shit track, even the night thing novelty has worn off now. Perhaps Katy Perry can pop them out to entertain us?

Overall he's probably been the best driver all round this season. Terrible luck

Alonso has been incredibly lucky though really, but mixed in with a couple of great drives too. I think Hamilton has been better overall, no doubt

Alonso has been far more consistent, I think, but there's no doubting that they are comfortably the best two drivers this season.

I'd say Alonso's been more impressive over the entirety of the season. He's been ridiculously consistent in a weaker car and has put in a few immense drives along the way.

I don't like Alonso. He's still been the best driver this year. By quite some way for me.

Hamilton has had moments of brilliance, especially recently, but not been consistent, however he's still been the closest to Alonso for me.

Vettel and Button have really disappointed me this year. Kimi has been pretty consistent actually.

I would suggest that if Alonso had had a retirement because of a puncture, another car drive into him, a gearbox failure, a failed jack and a few cross-threaded wheel nuts, then Hamilton would definitely be ahead of Alonso in the WDC.

While you can argue that a lot is down to the team and not just "luck", you cannot argue that it was Lewis' fault.

It is my opinion that Hamilton has been the better driver by some margin. I can only assume that the pundits are taking Alonso's greater humility into consideration when declaring him the best.

Alonso by a country mile. Raikkonen has also done a fantastic job in a car that doesn't work for the first half of a race.

You're missing the fact that the McLaren is massively better than the Ferrari. And has been for large parts of the season.

Or the proven fact his car is slower than Red Bull and Maclaren at most races and sometimes even the Lotus and he has only failed to score points in one race

If a lot of things had happened differently for a lot of drivers a lot of other things would be different, too.

He's 3rd in the DC (until today..) without having won a race. I think that sums up how tight this season has been. It also indicates that Alonso doesn't have the DC in the bag, when his three wins have put him barely 40 points ahead of someone who's not won a race. I also remember how Kimi won his DC from behind.

Not saying Kimi will win of course. I am saying anyone in the current top 6 could still do it.

Whoever wins it, Alonso is driver of the season for he's managed to do this in that car.

The track has its flaws but as a spectacle it's beautiful to watch. Especially in HD.
