Let Me In starting now on BBC2. Great film if you've not seen it before. The original is even better.

That was my plan if Lincoln doesn't put me to fucking sleep first. I'm off the sauce and there's another hour of this shit tbh

@bitch_tits_zero_nine I was considering watching it, but what you describe confirms my worst fears. No way!

Thanks for taking one for the team.

Ooh, Almodovar's The Skin I Live In started on Four ten minutes ago.

Also, Raimi's Drag Me To Hell on Five.

Two very different films, but I enjoyed them both.

@mal I'll have to +1 the first. Drag me to... is a brilliant, brilliant film with a whole different subtext to the typical Hollywood horror.

Event horizon is on Viva at 10pm. started to watch drag me to hell (having seen it ages ago) but my partner is getting jumpy at every little noise in our house :)

She quite likes sci fi, so that's what I've told her it is ;)

The Coens' version of True Grit is on BBC2. There's only half an hour left now, but I'd imagine it'll be on iPlayer.

How do you rate it dg? I like Westerns a lot, but I haven't seen much out of the Coen brothers' catalog and from what I've gathered they're pretty distinctive and marmite filmmakers.

    @Fatiguez

I thought it was a bit of a lazy remake without anything to add - the original is better.

I haven't seen the John Wayne original, so I dunno how it stacks up against that.

I do like the Coens though and while this isn't a very 'Coens-y' film it's a pretty good modern Western, which unfortunately there aren't enough of. It's worth watching, certainly. I liked it.

It's not a particularly dark Western like Unforgiven or anything.

Felt like a copy and paste job with the inability to hear what the hell he is saying. The end is cooler with John Wayne.

Second viewing of True Grit for me and I enjoyed it better.  Really got to appreciate that Coens dialogue and its as sharp as it has ever been.  No, I cant understand a damn word Bridges says either but it just adds to the films charm :)

I have just tried to watch Transformers again. And failed again, because it is shit.

Happily, Inglourious Basterds is also on.

The scene that is ending now in Inglorious Basterds is possibly one of my favourite in cinema history.

Another one for the iPlayer: Doubt on BBC1. Not seen it but it's supposed to be pretty good. Philip Seymour Hoffman, Meryl Streep and Amy Adams.
